Senior Site Reliability Engineer

Our customers include hundreds of health systems, physician organizations, and post-acute care providers across the country. Job Description:

We are actively hiring a hands-on Senior Site Reliability Engineer who wants to create something meaningful that will greatly improve people’s lives. This role is a unique opportunity for someone who not only wishes to architect and build superb systems, but also help evolve the Engineering department into an even more successful organization as the company scales. In this role you will work closely with the application development team to ensure the performance, capacity, and reliability of PatientPing’s systems. 

What You Will Do: 

• Contribute to the architecture of all new solutions, with an eye towards operational and scale considerations 

• Write automated scripts to monitor for current or incipient system stresses

• Help automate the deployment process of both custom and off-the-shelf components

• Continually look for opportunities to improve the efficiency and elegance of existing systems 

• Work with QA engineers to plan and execute stress testing and feed the results back into actionable scaling steps 

What Success Looks like:

In 3 months...

• Become familiar with the details of our business domain, deployment process, and DevOps codebase

• Begin contributing to Ansible playbooks and other automation components

In 6 months…

• Author significant new functionality

• Collaborate with the software team on designing and launching new initiatives

• Evaluate new tools and concepts for value and impact

In 12 months…

• Demonstrate repeated delivery of team-sized goals within expected timeframes

• Formulate meaningful improvements to process and demonstrated increased team productivity

What You Need:

• 5+ years administering Linux systems 

• 5+ years installing, configuring, and maintaining complex software solutions

• 3+ years experience writing automation scripts in a modern language (Go, Python, Ruby, etc) 

• 3+ years administering virtualized environments 

• 2+ years experience with AWS or other public cloud provider 

• A deep knowledge of standard networking stacks

• Hands-on experience with containers and container orchestration frameworks a strong plus
