Summary
The DevOps at Nuance Cloud Enablement - Professional Services organization is the cornerstone of the SaaS initiative, driving deployment excellence and product quality through a software-defined approach to operations and infrastructure. We are looking for an individual with a passion for both development and infrastructure, who dreams of programmatically controlling the full stack needed to run high quality SaaS products.
The Sr. DevOps engineer will be part of a dynamic team, collaborating with the R&D and PS organization to build out a release pipeline for their products and services. The DevOps engineer will ensure the infrastructure area of the service stack follows SDLC and the processes, environments force quality and correctness into the dev/test cycles prioritizing service Availability, Performance, Capacity, Security and Compliance.
The successful candidate will be recognized as a powerful voice in the Devops/Infrastructure-As-Code domain, able to articulate deep and broad knowledge in a SaaS environment. You will take complete ownership of issues and of the success of your customers and peers in the build and support of this internal PaaS offering.
Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain our Infrastructure As A Code on large scale multi-site deployments.

• Design and implement new tools and processes to automate configuration, deployment, monitoring, and operational activities using cloud infrastructure DevOps best practices and security-first principles.
• Actively participate in team architecture and code reviews for design and implementation of scalable software and infrastructure-as-code; continuously seek opportunities for reuse and efficiency, automation, and testing capabilities.
• Troubleshoot issues until root causes are understood on high traffic production systems
• Automation and management of infrastructure services, application deployments, cloud services, monitoring, and databases
• Drive continual improvements for availability, performance, observability, quality, and cost effectiveness.

• Develop CI/CD pipelines to deploy software in a cloud native platform (Azure, Kubernetes)
• L3/L4 Operational Support and Setup Advance Monitoring/Alerting for support teams
• Collaborate with R&D users and understand their needs / expectations while enforcing best practices.
• Be a reference for best practices in architecting, scaling, and deploying data intensive applications.
• Stay current on technology and domain trends, frameworks, and cutting-edge technology.

• Passion for customers, learning, proven ability to be client focused, results-focused, proactive, collaborative, and confident under pressure.
• Documentation & mentoring other team members.

Required Skills:

• 5+ years of experience in Enterprise level Cloud infrastructure and Operations
• Hands-on experience with SaaS environment
• Strong background in DevOps concepts and tools; well-disciplined in continuous integration and delivery, change management.
• Experience in High Availability and Distributed systems, Linux, Automation, troubleshooting and support activities.
• Cloud native deployment: Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform

• Experience with version control systems such as Git
• Experience on Infrastructure as Code tools such as Biceps, Terraform, Azure ARM
• Experience with Big Data Ecosystem specializing in some of the following: Spark, Delta Lake, Data Lakes, Hadoop, Kafka, Storm, Zookeeper, Event Hub
• Basic knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, UDP, VPN, DNS, TLS)
• Experience with Software Release Deployment and Automating the lifecycle

• A team player capable of high performance, flexibility in a dynamic working environment with Agile methodologies.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment.
• Comfortable working in shifts and remotely with people in other geographic regions

Preferred Skills:

• Previous Experience on Analytics/Reporting Platform
• Fluent coding experience in one or more of the following: Python, Scala, SQL, R, Java
• Advanced Analytics including Azure Data Bricks, Azure Synapse, Visualization tools as Tableau, Power BI
• Previous experience with RDBMS and NO-SQL Databases - Oracle, Postgres, MySQL, Cassandra, Mongo DB, Elasticsearch, Cosmos DB
• Monitoring Solutions - Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Grafana, ELK, API's

• Experience with ELK Stack
• A knack for analyzing and improving processes using data and automation.
