Our Opportunity:

Chewy is looking for an experienced Release Engineer for our Boston, MA office. The Release Engineering team at Chewy owns the tools and processes that enable our 30+ application teams to develop, test, and deploy code in a fast-paced software development environment. The ideal candidate has experience working in an Agile team environment, following DevOps principles, and has a desire to automate as much as possible

What you'll do:

Work with the RE team to build a deployment (CI/CD) pipeline that allows teams to rapidly deliver software
Integrate customizations into third-party tools including GitHub, Jenkins, CircleCI, Gradle, Ansible, Terraform, and Artifactory
Support RE-owned tools and processes across engineering
Educate and champion Release Engineering best-practices across Engineering

What you'll need:

3+ year’s experience in a Release Engineering team or function
Expertise with related tools: GitHub, Jenkins, Circle CI, Gradle, Ansible, Terraform, Artifactory
AWS experience, especially automating software deployments
Hands-on experience with Bash and Python scripting
Great communication skills to all levels of audience
Experience with JIRA and Confluence
Experience packaging applications with Docker
Position may require some travel

Bonus:

Experience with monitoring/logging with DataDog/Splunk or similar
Strong understanding of REST API web applications
Medium to large-scale eCommerce experience
Agile team experience

Being an entry-level engineer doesn’t mean working on entry-level projects. Recently, Shinde, an engineer on the delivery experience team, created an API that connects customer’s queries with shipment statuses, a project that could have a significant impact on Chewy’s bottom line.
