Quality Engineer III

Chewy is growing and we are looking to expand our autoship systems and services team with talented software engineers in multiple locations.  If you are a Quality Engineer and interested in building test automation to solve real world operational problems that will be highly impactful and visible to leadership at Chewy, please apply!  In this role, the ideal candidate will engage in iterative development, testing, and make contributions to the growth and development of one of Chewy’s fastest growing revenue streams.

About You:

You will be a quality engineer with a BS in CS, or related degree/experience, focused on mainly on test automation development. Our Autoship team is scaling the platform to have loosely coupled components, a real-time event system and self-corrective processes for real-time customer experience, a federated GraphQL API to seamlessly access data, and an aggregated data pipeline to ingest data from predictive ML models and recommendation engines. You will use Java, Javascript, Mabl, Selenium, Cypress, SQL, and AWS to build out the automation tests. In this role you will support the creation & deployment of automation testing framework and support adding automation test for the Autoship systems.

About this Team:

Autoship is a service that Chewy offers to customers so that they can receive items that they purchase often, on an automatic shipment schedule.  Our team’s mission is to make Autoship the most loved pet care subscription program. As the most convenient and simple-to-use subscription offering, Autoship helps pet parents easily address their pets’ needs so they can spend more time enjoying their relationships with their pets. Furthermore, Autoship customers are Chewy’s most developed and loyal customers, and the trust they place in Autoship to meet their needs drives long-term customer engagement with Chewy.

  • Create test tools and frameworks for automated and reusable testing
  • Conduct detailed source-to-destination data testing; identifying issues with data integrity, data accuracy and transformation logic

What You'll Need:

An Insider's view of Chewy

What’s the vibe like in the office?

Fast paced! We work in "doggy-years" here. It's a place where talent and hard work is valued and where team members can think big and can bring their dreams to life.

Greg

Senior Technical Recruiter

What projects are you most excited about?

I'd say our new onboarding program, which educates and immerses Chewy’s new hires in our business, mission, and Operating Principles. I hope new Chewtopians walk away from our revamped onboarding experience with a deeper understanding of what makes Chewy special and that it helps them build connections with their fellow new team members.

Victoria

Senior Talent Manager

What are some things you learned at the company?

Creating a work environment that is accessible to everyone attracts a diverse talent pool and unlocks talents and skills that might not be available otherwise.

Mark

Sr. Accessibility Program Manager

How do you make yourself accessible to the rest of the team?

Aside from the standard 1x1s and team meetings: 24/7 via text, email, chat, voice and during business hours by walking around the office engaging in conversation, listening to current challenges and proposed solutions.

Mike

VP, Software Engineering

What’s the vibe like in the office?

My favorite Operating Principle here at Chewy is “Debate Openly, Commit Fully.” It makes me comfortable having passionate disagreements with my coworkers about a project when appropriate, knowing that we can have a (zoom) beer later that day and feel OK about it. Every company strives for that culture, and it's a part of our DNA at Chewy.

Zack

Senior Product Manager
