Numerated is hiring a talented, experienced QA Engineer to join our QA team. The QA Engineer will work closely with the QA, product, and engineering teams to verify expected product behavior and ensure software quality for new product development and enhancements to existing products. Essential Responsibilities /

  • Develop, document, and execute tests to identify software defects
  • Manually execute tests when test automation is difficult/not possible
  • Perform post-deployment release verification
  • Document and share test results with product and engineering teams
  • Analyze defects found during test execution
  • Share detailed defect analysis and reproduction steps with development teams for resolution
  • Partner with product and engineering teams to ensure requirements are fully documented, understood, and testable
  • Recommend software improvements to enhance the user experience
  • Collect data on software quality and share insights to drive continuous software improvement
  • Actively engage in QA team and stakeholder meetings
  • Scope and estimate testing efforts to assist with team planning
  • Research, recommend, and develop testing methodologies and strategies
  • Stay current with software testing best practices and advancements


Education Requirements /

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or a technically related field preferred

 

Work Experience Requirements /

  • 5 + years in a Quality Assurance Engineer role
  • Extensive experience applying software development and testing best practices throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC)
  • Experience coordinating/executing integration, system, regression, and user acceptance testing
  • Experience executing test runs with test case management software (TestRail preferred)
  • Experience executing test runs with test automation software (Robot Framework preferred)
  • Skilled at mining application logs to debug complex software defects (experience with Nginx, Celery, and Python logs, as well as Datadog preferred)
  • Highly proficient in programming languages (Python preferred), databases (Postgres preferred), SQL, and JSON
  • Experience defining/implementing software quality metrics to drive continuous improvement
  • Experience with automated test scripts using test frameworks for CI/CD is a plus
  • Experience working in GitHub
  • Experience working on scrum teams
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Great collaborator and team player
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision on multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
