Principal/Senior Software Engineer

Responsibilities:
- Collaborative partner: Working across teams of GRM US - BL Product Tech you will partner with scrum masters, product owners and fellow engineers to tackle technical challenges and ensure quality as we move from legacy technologies to next-generation applications
- Comprehensive problem-solver: As you manage the end-to-end development of software products, you'll analyze issues at the system level and handle any complications that arise by implementing effective solutions
- Skilled technical engineer: You'll document and lead the implementation of technical features, improvements and innovations
- Forward thinker: Simply fixing the problem isn't enough; using your proactive mindset and initiative, you'll continually look for ways to improve performance, quality and efficiency
Qualifications
Desired Skills:
- Expert level Java depth in version 8 or above (Maven; Gradle: build pipeline technology for java)
- Self-starter with exceptional initiative. Willing to go after work to stretch skill breadth/depth and support team. Goes after (pulls) opportunities rather than sitting back waiting for push.
- Strong testing experience (unit, integration, contract)
- Strong communication skills. Willing to ask questions; offer recommendations; participate/lead in virtual environment
- Demonstrated quick learner
- Should have good working knowledge of SpringBoot and Git
- Computer Science BS
Nice to have:
- Agile team experience with strong knowledge of SAFE principles.
- Exposure to Kubernetes
- Exposure to Kotlin
- Some UI experience (Javascript; React; Angular)
- Exposure to Python
- Business rules inferencing engine experience
- CI/CD coding mindset
- Insurance knowledge
- ACORD knowledge
- Computer Science - Masters degree
