Manager, Software Engineering – Acquia Cloud Enterprise, for Acquia Inc. (Boston, MA): Manager, Software Engineering Acquia Cloud Enterprise is an entry-level engineering manager role. The position will serve as a hands-on manager, leading Acquia Cloud Enterprise teams of approx. 2-8 talented developers. This will require an extremely strong level of agility with Drupal development techniques, necessitating at least four years of demonstrated, hands-on senior software engineering experience with Drupal. The position must also have a strong ability to engage in designing, delivering and maintaining software in a SaaS environment. The position will direct and manage delivery of road-maps that provide services leveraged by our valued customers to create amazing digital experiences. The candidate will have a healthy mixture of technical and people skills and love fostering happy collaborative teams and will perform the following: (1) managing co-located and distributed development teams who report directly to the position; (2) creating processes, and set and manage expectations, holding team and self accountable; (3) overseeing highly technical Drupal coding and effectively engaging in people management; (4) communicating cross-functionally and driving engineering efforts; (5) removing impediments that block or slow down the team; and (6) mentoring and career development of all employees under direction, including motivating employees to achieve the business goals of the product, and ensuring that the right roles are filled by the right people. The position will also work with senior management and product management on developing schedules, backlog grooming and planning. May telecommute from anywhere in the U.S.

Position Requirements:

  • Education: Master’s Degree in Information Technology or a related field.
  • Minimum Experience:  48 months of minimum experience as a senior software engineer. Must include 48 months of the following gained concurrently: (1) 48 months of demonstrated, hands-on senior software engineering experience with Drupal, and (2) 48 months of experience designing, delivering and maintaining software in a SaaS environment.
