Our Opportunity:

Chewy is looking for a Lead Full Stack Engineer to join our Autoship Team in Boston, MA. The ideal candidate has experience with Java frameworks/libraries, Node.js and highly scalable AWS focused initiatives. The Auto ship team is responsible for the customer facing portions and back-end services of one of Chewy's most vital revenue streams which is a platform that manages customer’s subscriptions and ensures their products arrive on schedule. Simply put, if you want autonomy and freedom to act while not sacrificing scale this opportunity is for you!

What You'll Do:

Design and build new features and capabilities on our customer facing Storefront across multiple platforms
Write scalable, performant, readable and tested backend code
Participate in technical decisions and collaborate with talented peers
Review code, implementations and give meaningful feedback that helps others build better solutions
Write documentation
Provide mentorship and guidance for peers and more junior engineers
Establish strong working relationships at all organizational levels and across functional teams
Refine our Java frameworks, processes, and standards
Take responsibility and ownership of project timelines and deliverables

What You'll Need:

5+ years of experience in Software Development as a Full Stack/ Backend Engineer
Fluency in Java, and/or other backend technologies
Experience with scalable cloud computing (Ideally AWS)
Experience with Node.js or JavaScript
Candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience
Position may require travel (less than 10%)

Bonus:

Experience with Experience with Typescript
Experience with Experience with DynamoDB
Experience with SQL

Being an entry-level engineer doesn’t mean working on entry-level projects.
