Job Summary:
This position is responsible for supporting the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston’s applied research efforts on digital currencies.
Principal Accountabilities:
1. Design and build AWS infrastructure for both internally and externally developed software.
2. Design and build AWS continuous integration environment for internal developers.
3. Automate testing infrastructure for internally developed software.
4. Work with developers towards solutions to testing and scaling problems.
5. Interact with internal and external developers and managers.
Supervision:
This position is not required to directly supervise others
Knowledge and Experience:
1. At least three years’ experience in a development operations position
2. Deep experience building and maintaining AWS environments
3. Production deployment and monitoring experience
4. Experiencing working within a team of developers and testers
Additional Preferred Experience:
1. Experience deploying and operating blockchain nodes
2. Academic research experience
3. Experience with cryptographic protocols generally used in blockchain projects

For this job, any offer of employment is contingent upon successfully passing a two-phase security screening. The second phase, which might not be complete until after you begin working at the Reserve Bank, is an additional risk-based security screening determined by the risk rating of the position. Depending upon the sensitivity of the position, this phase may include, and is not limited to, citizenship status verification, and personal interviews with the candidate, references, and prior employers.
All candidates must be U.S. citizens or lawful permanent resident aliens with at least three or more years of U.S. residency from the date of legal entry to the U.S.
