Position Summary
We are currently seeking a highly motivated, technical, solution-oriented individual to fill the position of Lead Application & Cloud Scalability Engineer. This is a hands-on position for someone who has a strong technical aptitude and experience supporting enterprise level applications and complex data solutions in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
This role requires strong leadership skills and the ability to work in a multicultural global environment with remotely located team members. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is always genuinely excited to help customers by developing unique and innovative solutions to their problems.
In this role, your primary focus will be to provide guidance and resolution on a wide range of technical customer issues and demonstrate a commitment to ensuring customer success.
Responsibilities

• Respon sible for scaling OneView's cloud SaaS applications, and working very closely with the development teams and architects to improve system performance and scaling.
• Become a subject matter expert on OneView's technology platform and products and provide production excellence to our customers.
• Provide advanced second level support to internal and external users for applications and technology-related issues.
• Monitor and respond promptly to issues or requests received through internal support ticket tracking system which includes escalating to the internal product or development teams, following up on resolution and informing users on the progress status.
• Past experience in providing performance test strategies and overseeing implementation of testing and providing recommendations for improving application performance.
• Collaborate with other architects to define a reliability and scaling roadmap, and to influence the direction of platform architecture and tooling.
• Communicate roadmaps, pain points, and priorities across technical and non-technical stakeholders to drive alignment and develop execution plans.
• Perform application-level functionality research such as performing data analysis for software data-related issues.
• Perform investigations into monitoring and system-generated alerts/escalations relating to potential failures.
• Understand the importance of the issues resulting in prioritizing and escalating when required.
• Create, maintain and document newly provided software and data solutions.
• Independently own, address and resolve application issues, provide updates and perform root cause analysis.
• Flexibility - responsibilities may require occasional evening and weekend work.
• Follow standards and best practices to bring operational efficiencies, stability and availability of the system.
• Review various metrics on operational dashboards and reports and recommend and implement corrective actions.
• Responsible for completing necessary team building strategies.

Skills and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or Computer Science, MS preferred.
• 5+ years experience in architecting, designing, and building large-scale distributed service-oriented systems, and web applications in an agile environment.
• Experience architecting highly scalable solutions leveraging different platform services provided by popular cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google).
• Experience in measuring, optimizing and recommending best-fit solutions for different non-functional parameters of the application like throughput, response time, RPO, RTO etc.
• At least 2-3 years of commercial web development experience with Javascript/Typescript.
• High proficiency with client-side JavaScript frameworks (preferably React/Redux) and NoSQL databases like CouchDB, Google firebase/firestore.
• Experience in a technical software application support role working with both internal and external users.
• Ability to quickly identify potential and existing bottlenecks across different layers of an application/solution
• Experience working in a SaaS environment and/or with microservices architecture.
• An abiding intellectual curiosity and passion for solving complex problems.
• Critical thinking, problem-solving, ability to write efficient and maintainable code.
• Experience with Git or similar version control software.
• Strong development experience with RESTful web services.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Experience working with monitoring and alerting tools.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial company environment.
