Hardware Engineer
We are looking for a Hardware Engineer to help us develop innovative system architectures and hardware subsystems for our security products designed for both indoor and outdoor use. This position reports to our Hardware Engineering Director. The ideal candidate has previous experience developing hardware/embedded communication systems involving wireless, radio, security, networking, and power supply technologies. In this role, you will work independently on embedded hardware architectures on all phases of design, including specification, schematic capture, PCB layout, board bring-up, DVT, and product compliance (FCC emissions, FCC radio regulatory, safety, UL, and environmental). You will support the manufacturing life cycle for new products from NPI, ECO progression, and management to successful product launch and volume production.
Requirements
You have a BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering and at least five years of hardware development experience involving board-level design (analog, digital, RF, and PCB), embedded HW design, mixed-signal design, radio systems design, CPU/DSP design, FPGA design, and hardware product compliance. You have extensive experience working on small, fast-paced teams in an agile environment. Start-up experience is a strong plus. In addition, you can demonstrate the following:
- Signal integrity analysis and simulation experience is a strong plus
- Ability to troubleshoot designs in a mixed-signal system
- Experience with RF front-end design, PHY layer, high-speed communication interfaces and modules (USB, ethernet, Wi-Fi, LTE, etc.) and leading processors (Embedded CPUs, ARM, MIPS, GPU), preferably for radio-based communication projects
- Proven track record of designing and delivering products from conceptual stages to production delivery. Minimum of three products successfully delivered to the market
- Familiarity with power supply design, power efficiency, and power noise analysis
- Hands-on test/debug experience in an engineering lab environment with PC tools, scopes, and logic/spectrum/LAN analyzers, as well as support lab activities such as assembly, debugging, lab management, and component purchases
- Experience in FPGA development, including VHDL/Verilog design, simulation, synthesis, and verification is a strong plus
