Our Opportunity:

Chewy is looking for a Full Stack Engineer to join our Software Development Team based in Boston, MA.

What you’ll do:

• You will solve business problems by helping to grow our internal tools, like our internal order management system, our catalog management system and our dynamic pricing platform. 
• You will be involved in all levels of our applications, back-end to front-end, and all phases of development, from requirements gathering to showing off your features to our users.
• You will be challenged to be creative and take ownership.

What you’ll need:

• 5+ years of professional experience in software development
• Ability to write maintainable code in multiple languages, with one JVM-based language
• Experience with modern web frameworks and technologies (e.g. Stripes, Wicket, Play!,Vue.js, Bootstrap)
• Fluency in SQL and comfortable with relational databases (e.g postgres)
• Enjoy being a member of an agile based team (e.g. scrum, kanban)
• Enjoy working with your fellow team members and help them grow as developers and be successful
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business team's
• Position may require travel

Bonus:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, Physics or Electrical Engineering
• Experience with designing, building and deploying scalable, highly available systems
• Have or (more importantly) be willing to learn deep domain knowledge in the area of retail e-commerce
• Experience with data analysis/mining in large scale database environments a plus
• Mathematical and statistical modeling skills are extremely useful
• A working knowledge of optimization algorithms (e.g., linear programming) and mathematical modeling a plus
