Our highly skilled, dynamic, and growing engineering organization is looking for a Director of Quality Engineering that is passionate about test automation and QA best practices. You will bring in a strong "quality through automation" mindset and leadership to elevate the quality engineering practices within Aura.
Responsibilities

  • Drive the software quality assurance strategy and execution, for Aura's product offerings through automation of the full technology stack - Web, Mobile, API, and other backend interfaces.
  • Coordinate and facilitate user acceptance and end to end testing activities between multiple teams towards production releases
  • Working closely with product management, engineering, and support stakeholders to ensure test automation and reporting is a repeatable and consistent part of the SDLC/Agile process
  • Institutes scalable QA best practices in a fast paced agile environment.
  • Establish and communicate insightful and accurate quality and risk metrics to various stakeholders
  • Develop a strong understanding of the customer usage of the products and support escalations, to advocate for continuous improvement of quality trends within engineering
  • Ready to technically engage in test automation architecture, test, and tooling strategies for UI and backend test case development and implementation
  • Hire, retain, mentor, and direct highly skilled Quality Engineering resources to maintain an automation mindset and provide tactical support for product development
  • Encourage continuous learning and improvement for engineers and support their career development


Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in SaaS quality engineering or related leadership roles with at least 5+years of prior experience as a test automation engineer or architect.
  • Experience through the full SDLC (including beta and UX experiments) that exercised quality, metrics, and best practices for release to production.
  • Ability to make the right trade offs that deliver a quality experience to customers while mitigating risks for the organization and partners
  • Proficiency in developing test strategies, test plans, and organizing test cases.
  • Strong experience and familiarity of using web, mobile, and API test automation technologies such as Cypress, Selenium, Appium, XCUITest, Cucumber, Postman, etc.
  • Highly resourceful in leveraging JIRA, Confluence and other documentation tools for tracking, reporting, and socializing QA automation activities and goals
  • Experience with AWS infrastructure, services, and tools
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Prior experience with Agile methodologies such as scrum, SaFE, etc.
