Customer Success Specialist - Front End Web Developer
We are looking for a web developer that wants to push boundaries. We are building out our Klaviyo Academy Team in Customer Success and looking for someone to play double duty in helping build out both our Customer Support Help Center and Klaviyo Academy site and also contribute to the design of both those sites. We want to build beautiful customer experiences across both those sites and you will take a lead role in the design and development of them. You will own these properties and develop standards and practices across the team to empower them to contribute and make changes in the future.
Responsibilities
- Own and manage Klaviyo’s Customer Success web properties: Including our help center help.klaviyo.com and our Klaviyo Academy site (yet to be created). Empower and support the Academy Team to be able to make updates, post, and test by owning and maintaining our CMS (we use Zendesk and WordPress). We’ll look to you to develop a system for changes and releases for the site, adding & updating CMS core software and plugins as necessary. Work with other Klaviyo engineers on the hosting architecture of the site, and perform your own site deploys and core updates.
- Responsive and cross-browser development: You will be responsible for ensuring that we look great no matter what device someone is using.
- Collaborate with product resources: Working with the other design and technical resources in the company, you will make sure that there is a seamless experience between customer-owned web properties and the product.
- Design: You’ll have to have the design chops to fish for yourself on this team, but when appropriate work with other designers at Klaviyo to understand and contribute to brand standards.
In the first 30 days, you’ll have:
- Understood Klaviyo product, brand and audience
- Reviewed current site structure and familiarize yourself with our web properties and architecture
- Set process for web development and requests
- Reviewed the Klaviyo customer sites and made any updates required to ensure it matches our style guidelines
Within 90 days, you’ll have:
- Launched the Klaviyo Academy site
- Created and documented standards for coding
- Partnered with other internal teams to implement website testing
- Ensured site is compatible with all browsers and is a seamless responsive experience
Before you hit your first year anniversary, you’ll:
- Have done a major upgrade to our Help Center
- Update all customer web properties’ architecture and CMS templates for code architecture, CMS performance, UI performance and branding
- Contribute to improved site UI and experience
- Collaborate on user experience experiments to improve actions toward customer goals
- Evaluate, suggest and implement any new tools or systems
About You You’re an expert in web development and are super nerdy about it. You want to empower others to help themselves, but you will hold them accountable to following good practices. You are comfortable on day 0 running WordPress locally, logging into a production server, and using GitHub and AWS. You are fluent in CSS/SCSS, HTML and JavaScript. You are well versed at using Photoshop and User Experience and Wireframing basics. You’re a creative, abstract thinker who is willing to push boundaries to solve problems. You don’t want to settle for what’s been done before. You’re dedicated to high quality and making something the best it can be. You’re obsessive about details, but impatient about getting your work out to the world. You love being part of the creative process, have a point of view and want to share it. You have a passion for user experience, internet marketing & web design. You want to work with people who feel the same way. About Us Klaviyo is a team of people who are crazy motivated by growth. It’s what we help our customers do: grow their ecommerce businesses by making it possible and easy for them to use their data to power better email marketing. It’s how we behave as individuals: we’re all deeply passionate about learning. It’s how we manage our business: we have thousands of paying customers, we’re profitable, and we’re growing insanely fast. And it’s what our culture is all about. Working at Klaviyo means you’ll work on things you never imagined you would; you’ll grow in ways you didn’t consider possible; and you’ll do the best work of your career with people who are just as motivated and talented as you are.
