Job Overview:

Seeking a strong Lead Architect that is able to help us grow our GCP (Google Cloud Platform) practice and lead projects.  Ideal candidates have a well-rounded skillset involving Infrastructure, Solutions Architecture as well as Core Java/J2EE Development expertise. Will also consider candidates with a stronger Infrastructure intensive skillset who demonstrate expertise with at least 2 different Cloud Technologies (AWS/Google/Redhat/IBM/Azure).The candidate should have a strong background in API’s, complex integration development and architecting n-tier applications.

• Own and aggressively drive forward specific areas of technology architecture in the GCP (Google Cloud Platform) arena. Provide architectural solutions/designs to project execution teams for implementation.
• Provide architectural assessments, strategies, and roadmaps for one or more technology domains.
• Lead projects within architecture. Work with Product Owner/Business Analysts to understand functional requirements and interact with other cross-functional teams to architect, design, develop, test, and release features.
• Develop Proof-of-Concept projects to validate new architectures and solutions.
• Support multiple Agile Scrum teams with planning, scoping and creation of technical solutions for the new product capabilities, through to continuous delivery to production.
• Liaise with offshore team and clients for resolving technical dependencies, issues, and risks.
• Architect, design and implement solutions.
• Demonstrate broad solutions technical leadership, impacting significant technical direction, exerting influence outside of the immediate team and driving change.

• Extensive experience as Cloud Solutions Architect with GCP (Google Cloud Platform) and/or AWS (AWS Cloud Formation, AWS EC2, S3, VPC, etc.)
• Strong knowledge of  GCP and/or Amazon Kinesis, AWS Lambda, Amazon Simple Queue Service (Amazon SQS), Amazon Simple Notification Service (Amazon SNS), and Amazon Simple Workflow Service (Amazon SWF)
• Strong knowledge with Web Services, API Gateways and application integration development and design
• Strong background in Linux
• Knowledge of agile software development practices and release management
• Thorough understanding of Cloud Computing: virtualization technologies, Infrastructure as a Service, Platform as a Service and Software as a Service Cloud delivery models and the current competitive landscape.Excellent written and oral communication skills; Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical staff.

Desired Skills:

• Full life cycle software design and development with Core Java/J2EE
• Experience with automation/configuration management using Puppet, Chef, Ansible or similar.
• Knowledge of DevOps methods and CI/CD automation practices
• Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, LXC, etc.)
• Knowledge of data migration practices and technologies

Education/Certification Requirements:

• Google Cloud Professional Certifications (nice to have)
• AWS Certified Associate level certification required
• AWS Certified Professional level certification preferred
