The WHOOP Labs Experience team is a new team dedicated to the member experience across retail, fitness testing, data science, and product development. Each of these areas represent a unique offering that allows a member to enhance their experience by interacting at the bleeding edge of health technology and research. You will have a part in creating a tailored experience, designing the information architecture, implementing the vision, and iteratively improving the overall experience of each WHOOP member when they walk into WHOOP Labs. 

As an Android engineer, you will be responsible for owning the end-to-end development of new features in the WHOOP Android app and creating new experiences with tablets.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work in a cross functional team that works closely with the WHOOP Labs, Retail, Data Science, and Product.
• Develop new screens, UI elements and features using the latest mobile technologies
• Create and own systems that aid in enhancing the members physical experience in our Retail locations
• Utilize knowledge of Kotlin, Java and testing best practices to develop and maintain product features
• Document new features and architecture using Jira, Confluence and preparing code using Github feature, develop, and master branches
• Participate in the WHOOP app release process including getting the app built, managing build variants, signing, sending and testing through Firebase, and submitting to the Google Play store
• Work with Product, Design and backend engineers to design new features, API contracts

QUALIFICATIONS

• You are experienced with Kotlin and Java
• You are a product minded engineer with empathy for the customer experience
• You are experienced with UI design and development within Android using MVVM
• You are experienced with communicating with RESTful backend APIs
• You have some familiarity with SQLite
• You are comfortable iterating quickly and presenting your work
• You are experienced collaborating with product and design teams
• You have a high degree of ownership for the features you build and ship to customers
