The cold section design engineer will contribute to the design and development of products primarily for the engine’s structural parts across the Lynn site’s Turboprop/Turboshaft engine product lines in order to meet assigned objectives. Strategic thinking and planning is required to navigate through manufacturing support of the structures components. You will work within defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • The design engineer of structural components will provide insight and knowledge into the manufacturing of hardware while creating strategic action plans for both the short term and long term producibility of said hardware.
  • Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects, with guidance from senior engineering resources, using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements. This work would include mechanical engineering for all products
  • Leverage prior mechanical design experience and broaden knowledge of one's own technical discipline to meet product deliverables within schedule & budget constraints.
  • Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.
  • Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers
  • Document and communicate results of technical data generated
  • Participate on teams assigned to address specific organizational initiatives
  • Share engineering information and promote open dialogue
  • Prepare invention disclosures to protect the technology that provides a competitive advantage to the business
  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.  We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
