Essential Functions:
- Supports the long-term company-wide resilience and reliability strategy by developing, linking and applying new and existing resiliency and reliability planning methods, models, equipment and technologies.
- Stays up to date with industry best practices and standards on resilience and reliability including new planning models, equipment and technologies and evaluates their applicability given Eversource’s strategic goals.
- Works with various departments throughout the Company and translates their needs into engineering models and processes.
- Performs industry benchmarking through literature review or by engaging with other utilities and energy companies, consultants and other stakeholders as needed.
- Supports the development of analytics tools needed for resilience and reliability planning by providing guidance on the engineering logic and principles
- Develops reports, prepares and delivers presentations, writes procedures and performs other activities as needed.
- Supports regulatory responses and company engagement and representation in applicable regulatory proceedings.
Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:
Technical Knowledge/Skill:
- 3+ years of related experience.
- Experience with electrical utilities and electrical distribution systems or experience with commercial distribution power flow models are preferred.
- Understanding of power system fundamentals, with a focus on distribution reliability and resiliency and protection and control.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze, infer and interpret information to solve highly complex problems.
- Able to understand the utility business model and the regulatory requirements and correspondingly align the company-wide resilience and reliability strategy
- Fast & eager learner, that enjoys working collaboratively with multiple cross-functional teams
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Intermediate Excel skills.
- Experience in coding (MATLAB, Python, SQL), databases or PowerBI is a plus.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering required
- Advanced degree preferred.
Working Conditions:
- Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
- Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
