Eli Lilly and Company is seeking a Benchling Engineer to join our team in Boston, MA. Come join the rapidly expanding Gene Editing team at Eli Lilly! We are responsible for inventing, characterizing, and advancing novel genome therapy reagents for a myriad of clinical applications. Our team works cross-functionally within our organization across multiple disease areas and platforms. Our goal is to deliver on the promise of gene editing to patients around the world.

Job Responsibilities:

• Serve as a key thought leader and collaborate with teams to deliver data-driven capabilities within Benchling and cloud-based platforms.
• Manage Benchling projects from design to rollout.
• Design data transformations and pipelines, prioritizing data integrity and privacy.
• Define Service Level Objectives for batch and streaming pipelines and optimize performance.
• Create CI/CD pipelines for platform provisioning and lifecycle management.
• Collaborate with Application and Platform teams to establish data platform best practices.
• Engage comfortably with all levels of the organization, including senior leaders, to ensure transparency, effective change management, and collaboration.
• Possess expertise in relevant data visualization, data ETL, databases, engineering tools, and programming languages such as SQL, Python, JIRA, and Confluence.
• Demonstrate strong problem-solving and organizational skills; capable of handling competing demands and working within a fast-paced environment.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's in computer science, bioinformatics, or related scientific field.
• 2+ years of work experience with software development.

Additional Skills/Preferences:

• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Proficiency in SQL and data modeling.
• Knowledge of containers (e.g., Docker) and workflow management software.
• Expertise in Python or R

• This role may require up to 10-15% travel for conferences or training.

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location.  The anticipated wage for this position is

$70,500 - $200,200

Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
