POSITION SUMMARY:
The position will support Employee Resilience efforts for all Boston Medical Center Health System employees. The Employee Resilience Clinician will provide direct support in response to critical incidents; as well as providing training in stress management, crisis management, and peer-to-peer support.
Provide individual employees and teams across the hospital with direct support as it relates to adverse events and occupational stress injuries. Manages and executes the expansion of mental wellness initiatives, such as the Peer Support Program, Schwartz Rounds, and other relevant programming.
Proactively rounds & connects with high-performance units and floors (i.e. Emergency Dept., Labor & Delivery, Intensive Care Units, etc.) to stay up-to-date on adverse events, morale, etc.
Collaborates with internal stakeholders and partners (including, but not limited to, Human Resources colleagues, Behavioral Response Team, Quality & Patient Safety, Public Safety, Patient Advocacy, Chaplaincy, Nursing Leadership, Psychiatry, etc.) to provide holistic support & resources for employees.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:
Supports Employee Resilience Program’s strategic vision as a subject matter expert in crisis management throughout the Hospital and Health System.
Crisis Management
- Collaborates with Workplace Safety Committee, Emergency Management, Behavioral Response Team, and Public Safety in response to adverse events
- Supports employees with the emotional impacts of assaults and other critical incidents
- Assists with supervising Peer Support Program and program expansion
- Trains employees in Stress First Aid and be involved in implementing and managing a peer support program
- Leads Critical Incident Emotional Debriefings following Adverse Events and/or as requested
Outreach
- Coordinate and facilitates Resilience Rounds with various departments, programs, and specialties.
- Proactive outreach including attendance at Daily Safety Huddle and Challenging Inpatient Situation meetings (as well as Challenging Outpatient Situations huddles as appropriate), rounding on the floors, attending team meetings and huddles; additional customized outreach as needed.
- Have proficient knowledge of the different norms and cultures throughout the hospital/health system, and be able to relate to our employees from where they are - across disciplines and professional roles.
- Facilitate groups and provide trainings to the various audiences.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
Masters’ degree in Social Work (MSW) or mental health counseling, or related field required
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:
Independent Licensure to practice as a social worker in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts (LICSW) or mental health counselor (LMHC / LMFT) and/or related field require or the ability to obtain within 90 days of employment start date.
EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of 5 years progressive experience as a LICSW or licensed mental health counselor, with Crisis Management experience. Having experience in Stress First Aid, Psychological First Aid and/or Critical Incident Stress Management preferred. Active membership in professional and leadership organizations preferred.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Must have a strong clinical foundation and understanding of trauma-informed care in the health care setting.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and negotiation skills in interactions with employees, senior leaders, physicians, and health care team colleagues
- Ability to work with people of all social, economic, and cultural backgrounds; be flexible, open-minded, and adaptable to change.
- Knowledgeable of community resources, particularly services available to employees with limited payment resources.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Strong organizational and time management skills, as evidenced by a capacity to prioritize multiple tasks and role components.
- Must be able to create and facilitate trainings to multiple audiences based on the needs of the requesting department. Must be comfortable in facilitating groups and presenting to large audiences.
