Weiss Asset Management (WAM), a Boston-based investment firm, is seeking an Employee Experience Coordinator who is interested in joining a dynamic team and working at the intersection of facilities and employee management. Successful applicants will be creative problem-solvers and self-starters willing to contribute to all aspects of the firm. We are looking for someone with a strong work ethic, excellent communication and organizational skills, and an eye for detail.

Previous experience in customer service or hospitality is preferred but not required. The ideal candidate will take pride in maintaining a positive employee experience and an immaculate office environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage office facilities and services, including space planning, maintenance, and vendor and building relationships.

  • Implement employee experience programs and initiatives that enhance the work environment.

  • Maintain a tidy and organized office space by personally managing and executing essential upkeep tasks.

  • Greet clients and visitors by providing front-office hospitality services and answering all incoming company requests.

  • Plan and organize employee events and activities that build morale, foster teamwork, and celebrate achievements.

  • Conduct employee surveys and feedback mechanisms to gather insights on employee experience and identify areas for improvement.

  • Continuously evaluate and refine employee experience programs, office management policies, and related initiatives to ensure they meet the evolving needs of employees and the organization.

About the Company:

For over 30 years, Weiss Asset Management has developed proprietary value-based investment strategies designed to deliver high risk-adjusted returns to our investors, who include charitable foundations, pension plans, endowments, hospitals, government entities and private investors. We manage approximately $4 billion across hedge funds and institutional accounts. We work collaboratively to solve problems, and to identify undervalued assets through deep fundamental research, statistical analysis and an analytically rigorous approach to decision making. Above all else, we value integrity, uncompromising rationality, creativity and entrepreneurship, and continuous learning and improvement.

Our team of over 120 individuals is the engine of our success and we welcome truly exceptional candidates from all backgrounds.

WAM is a fit for you if:

  • You enjoy a collaborative environment, where decisions are made in diverse teams. At WAM, all employees can expect to work directly with members of other departments representing a range of backgrounds.

  • You work well in a flat structure and are comfortable voicing dissenting opinion. Talent and work ethic will dictate what you can achieve at WAM, as evidenced by the fact that our president and the majority of our managing directors began their careers here as interns.

  • You are driven to constantly learn, improve, and make rational decisions based in fact and data, and you welcome receiving feedback as well as sharing knowledge with others.

  • You prioritize acting ethically in all situations.

WAM is an equal opportunity employer. Women, minorities, people with disabilities, and veterans are encouraged to apply.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
