What We're Researching

We're hiring math experts to audit competition-level problems for elementary students. This work ensures that competition materials are mathematically sound, age-appropriate, and clearly written. Your feedback directly improves the quality and fairness of the testing rubrics.

How It Works

You will participate in a remote session to review a set of elementary math olympiad questions and their corresponding grading rubrics. We will ask you to verify the technical correctness of the solutions and identify any ambiguous wording. You will also assess whether the difficulty aligns with elementary competition standards. The process involves walking us through your reasoning as you evaluate each problem.

Who This Is For

We welcome elementary math teachers, olympiad coaches, curriculum developers, and mathematicians with a background in early education. You should have strong experience working with gifted students or competition math frameworks. Candidates must be comfortable evaluating grading rubrics and articulating mathematical concepts simply.

What You'll Do
  • Review elementary math olympiad questions for technical accuracy

  • Identify and correct ambiguous wording in problem statements

  • Audit grading rubrics to ensure fair and logical point distribution

  • Walk us through your evaluation process during a remote interview

Who Should Apply
  • Experience teaching, coaching, or developing curriculum for elementary math

  • Familiarity with math competition formats and difficulty levels

  • Strong attention to detail regarding mathematical logic and phrasing

  • Comfortable providing constructive feedback on educational materials

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
