About the opportunity
An established MEP consulting engineering team is hiring an Electrical Engineer or Electrical Designer to support building systems design from concept through construction.
Responsibilities
Electrical design production
- Design power, lighting, security, and low-voltage systems for buildings
- Prepare electrical plans, specifications, and construction documents
Calculations and layout
- Perform electrical load calculations and system layouts
- Support multi-floor building designs with consistent layouts
Coordination and construction support
- Coordinate designs with mechanical and plumbing disciplines
- Review shop drawings and provide construction-phase support
Qualifications
Required qualifications
- 4 or more years of experience in an MEP or consulting engineering environment
- Hands-on building electrical design experience
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (skills may be evaluated)
- Knowledge of applicable electrical and building codes
Preferred qualifications
- Revit experience strongly preferred
- Professional Engineer license or Engineer in Training is a plus and may impact compensation
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred
