EH&S Director

Job Description Summary

The role is a key member of the McKesson client account leadership team leading the Environmental, Health, Safety strategy (EHS) and holding dotted line to the Global Occupier Services (GOS) EHS Platform. The Director, EHS will ensure regulatory requirements, client EHS systems, Service Level Agreements, Statements of Work, policies, and initiatives are integrated into C&W account operations.
Partners with internal and external stakeholders to ensure GOS has a well-designed process for EHS Governance and Risk Management. Serves as a lead EHS subject matter expert on: EHS management systems, technical standards, and best practices. The role will liaise with key McKesson representatives, GOS account teams to drive governance set by McKesson the contract.

Job Description

  • Reports on EHS performance to the GOS Leadership team.
  • Develops EHS strategic objectives for ensuring operational excellence.
  • Implements Global Occupier Services EHS processes and systems at the account level.
  • Partner with contractors on hazards and risks associated with services delivered, ensuring EHS compliance is always demonstrated.
  • Provides technical advice on EHS issues, notifications of changes, and governance that will impact service delivery and/or client occupancy.
  • Monitor, track, and report on EHS KPI’s.
  • Proactively monitor and report on the implementation of EHS systems / processes across the McKesson portfolio to continuously improve the safe systems of work.
  • Provide guidance to the GOS McKesson Leadership team with supplier management.
  • EHS subject matter expert for account IFM teams.
  • Provide EHS assistance for the procurement of contractors as part of tender development.
  • Support EHS record keeping requirements including corporate and regulatory compliance / program documentation.
  • Participate in internal and external EHS audit activities and contribute towards continuous improvement.

Qualifications, Competencies and Experience

  • Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in EHS discipline or relevant scientific or engineering field.
  • Requires 15+ years of experience within the EHS profession.
  • Experience within Operational Management systems and working with corporate clients.
  • Demonstrable success in EHS systems management across multiple sites working with multiple teams.
  • Strong clients focus and customer experience mindset.
  • Experience in stakeholder and contractor management.
  • Demonstrated leadership, influencing and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to lead and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to leverage office systems such as Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, etc.
  • The ability to travel (approximately 15%).
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Experience in medical supply, distribution preferred.
  • Experience with hazardous/regulated waste management is preferred.
  • Experience within Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) is desirable.
  • Candidates with experience in a Manufacturing setting are desirable
  • Candidates with Professional Certifications (CSP etc.) are desirable.

The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on factors such as whether the position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, the geographic area in which the work will be performed, market pay rates in that area, and the candidate’s experience and qualifications.


The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.


The compensation for the position is: $136,000.00 - $160,000.00
