Education Content Lead

There are infinite use cases of Clay. Thousands of people create a free account every month, eager to explore the hype. Yet because Clay is so flexible, it can feel overwhelming at first. Where should they start? Many turn to Clay University as their go-to resource for self-guided learning. We're seeking a creator to craft polished, inspiring educational resources to transform our educational hub into a world-class learning experience. You'll develop comprehensive courses, guides, templates, and Claybooks while collaborating with internal and external experts to showcase what's truly possible with Clay.

What You’ll Do:
  • Elevate the quality of Clay University courses. You’ll take our existing content on Clay University courses (currently fast and scrappy) and elevate it to an exceptional standard. You’ll help with written content, drafting video scripts, building interactive product tutorials, or other creative ideas you bring to the table.

  • Drive product usage through educational content. You’ll build tight feedback loops with our analytics and ops teams to identify gaps in product adoption and learning resources. Using these insights, you’ll create impactful content across Claybooks, Guides, and Courses to drive deeper engagement.

  • Keep documentation updated, accurate, and reliable. Keep our Clay guides in perfect sync with Clay's rapid product evolution, ensuring users always have accurate, up-to-date information. Work closely with support, product, and website teams to ensure a seamless experience for users searching for answers while learning Clay.

  • Scale the community and content flywheel. We currently publish interactive guides and templates called Claybooks. You will be responsible for creating a flywheel to take ideas for new use cases from the Clay community, partners, cohorts, and more, and turn them into high-quality Claybooks for others to discover and implement.

  • Own education content creation processes. This role is half-content creator, half-systems builder. You’ll build processes by being the first to do them for each section of education content, and then you’ll work on creating “machines” to continuously create new content across Claybooks, Guides, and Courses at a high quality standard.

What You’ll Bring:
  • An artist’s touch. You take pride in crafting content that is both visually stunning and intellectually engaging. You care about every detail, ensuring your work is polished, precise, and impactful.

  • Passion for the low-code ecosystem. You understand the no-code/low-code ecosystem and are passionate about helping others leverage these tools effectively.

  • Education content leadership. You have experience creating succinct, high-impact learning resources, and you’re always tinkering with new and better ways to teach others

  • Clay experience. You’re already familiar with Clay’s product and have built interesting workflows that demonstrate your fluency.

  • Penchant for innovation. You’re not afraid to experiment and iterate. You dream of better ways for people to learn, and better ways to bring that to students around the world.

  • Love for building systems. You love to build flywheels and systems that scale individual work across a team. You’re a constant tinkerer, and experimentation is your first love.

Life @ Clay

Based out of a central office on 19th Street in Manhattan's Flatiron District. We love the energy of in-person collaboration while also offering the flexibility to work from home when needed.

  • Competitive salary and role trajectory: Roles, responsibilities, and comp grow as we do.

  • Health Insurance: Fully covered, high-quality medical, dental, and vision plans for NYC Claymates. Includes options covering 70–80% of out-of-network therapy after a deductible is met. Insurance options for remote Claymates may vary by location.

  • Visa sponsorship: Visa sponsorship for US-based candidates (e.g., student to work visas). We get it - it's an arduous process, but we're not scared of it. Sponsorship for candidates outside of the US may vary.

  • Paid time off: We expect team members to take at least 3 weeks fully-disconnected per year, with a flexible vacation policy beyond that.

  • Free food: Free meals in office every day and unlimited snacks.

  • Parental leave & fertility support: IVF fertility benefits, egg freezing, and 4 months of paid parental leave for NYC Claymates. Support for remote Claymates may vary by location.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
