CSCI is seeking a highly motivated and experienced EDI/XML Data Architect to support mission-critical data integration efforts for a Department of Defense (DoD) client. The SME will play a strategic role on executive-level project teams, offering technical direction, alternative approaches, and innovative solutions to drive success across major logistics, finance, and operations initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring both a strategic mindset and hands-on experience in architecting data flows across diverse systems—ensuring seamless, secure, and scalable integration in support of critical defense operations. This is a key role for a data professional who thrives at the intersection of architecture, leadership, and mission impact.
Responsibilities- Serve as a technical advisor on executive-level teams, offering expert guidance on system architecture, integration, and data exchange solutions
- Communicate complex technical information effectively in both written and oral formats to technical and executive audiences
- Provide advanced support, research, and analysis on exceptionally complex technical and functional challenges
- Develop creative and effective solutions involving EDI/XML-based data exchange and other enterprise integration needs
- Apply deep knowledge of IT systems, methodologies, and logistics functions to improve business operations and system interoperability
- Exercise substantial autonomy in setting technical direction and achieving project objectives
- Guide major programs and technical initiatives from concept through successful completion
- 10+ years of relevant experience in EDI/XML electronic data exchange and a specific logistics-related function (e.g., finance, supply, contract administration, transportation, or operations research)
- Active Secret Federal security clearance
- Expert-level knowledge in one or more areas of Information Technology such as:
- Information Systems Architecture
- Telecommunications Systems Design and Implementation
- Software Development Methodologies
- Security Engineering
- Communications and Network Systems Management
- Information Systems Integration
- Creativity and adaptability in problem-solving
- Ability to work with clients to understand their needs
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Professional presence
- Ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently
- Strong customer and vendor relationship skills
- Demonstrated ability to comply with data standards and policies
- Motivation to learn new technologies and methodologies that demonstrate value
- Past experience working with a federal agency
- Department of Defense experience is a plus!
