Position Overview
Autodesk is seeking an experienced Distinguished Architect to join our AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) division. Our distributed team is dedicated to solving large-scale challenges in the construction industry. As a Distinguished Architect, you will identify, assess, prioritize and most importantly drive the transformation of Autodesk’s Administration system into a scalable, extensible, robust enterprise offering.
As the senior-most architect for the Admin domain, you will define the technical strategy, partner with peer architects and platform leaders, and own the long-term evolution of foundational services that touch every user and project in Autodesk’s cloud. This is not a thought-leadership-only role, you’ll be expected to drive alignment, make difficult tradeoffs, and shepherd platform evolution with empathy for both legacy consumers and forward-looking strategy.
Location: Seeking candidates in the San Francisco Bay area, but open to remote or within a commutable distance of an Autodesk office. 0-15% travel may be required.

Rearchitect entitlements to allow for various product bundling and provisioning options
Define project structure and membership to be compatible with Autodesk’s ecosystem of products and future expansions
Ensure designs are scalable, performant, and future-proof. Demonstrate theoretical and empirical evidence that proposed designs and implementations can withstand several orders of magnitude of growth
With Construction as Customer #1 for Common Project Admin, ensure the backward-compatibility and product fit for the ACS Admin use cases
Closely partner with other architects on solutions that leverage underlying platform services. Where changes are needed to those services, work closely with those peers on a roadmap
Closely partner with other architects in the organization on taxonomies and shared system models
Lead Architect Council sessions for AEC Construction, facilitating the process of proposal and approval of cross-cutting projects that have architectural impacts
Mentor junior architects and tech leads in Admin and adjacent team, reviewing and approving their work
