Learning Needs & Prioritization

  • Establish processes to identify learning needs using data sources such as audits, incidents, regulatory findings, and operational trends.

  • Ensure content is accurate, practical, and aligned with policies, regulations, and best practices.
  • Promote interactive, scenario-based learning that supports application on the job.
  • Maintain standards for content review, version control, and updates.

Field-Based Learning

Onboarding & Early Tenure Development

  • Oversee onboarding-related learning, including new hire orientation and role-specific pathways.
  • Support structured early-tenure development (e.g., 30/60/90-day plans).
  • Partner with departments to ensure consistency in onboarding practices and role readiness.

Technology & Systems Training

  • Partner with system owners to develop role-based training for key platforms (e.g., EHR, LMS, HRIS, Microsoft 365).
  • Ensure training is task-based and supported by practical resources and tools.
  • Support adoption of new systems and process changes through coordinated training.

Accessibility & Learning Standards

  • Establish standards for accessible, inclusive training across diverse roles, languages, and work environments.
  • Ensure high-priority content is available in formats that support understanding and application.

Training Compliance & Documentation

  • Oversee systems for tracking required training and compliance.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and readiness for audits, licensing, and regulatory review.
  • Partner with leaders to address gaps in training completion.

Evaluation & Continuous Improvement

  • Develop reporting on training activity, compliance, and outcomes.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of learning interventions using performance and quality indicators.
  • Use insights to improve curriculum, delivery, and systems.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Perform additional duties as needed to support organizational priorities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field required; Master’s preferred.
  • 5–7 years of relevant experience in training, quality, operations, or human services.

  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
