Director, Thought Leadership

The Role

Are you skilled communications and editorial leader with a gift for shaping and delivering content programs that drive results?  As a Director of Thought Leadership at Fidelity Charitable, you will play a hands-on and highly visible role in advancing Fidelity Charitable’s mission by leading, optimizing, and implementing a multichannel thought leadership program designed to drive awareness and adoption of donor-advised funds, as well as growing and protecting the Fidelity Charitable brand in the market.

 The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in communications, journalism or marketing, advanced degree a plus
  • Minimum of 10+ years of editorial, marketing and strategic communications experience, including at least five managing a content or editorial program spanning multiple formats and delivery channels.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully collaborate with leadership and translate executive priorities into meaningful thought leadership programs that connect with target audience
  • Proven experience developing and managing complex, multifaceted content programs from inception through execution, including strategic planning, project management and creative asset development
  • Hands-on editorial experience crafting highly engaging content designed to connect with, and communicate complex ideas to, a sophisticated audience, including knowledge of tactics and best practices to drive distribution
  • Experience working directly with senior leadership, including outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
  • Outstanding attention to detail and organizational skills, with ability to prioritize, problem solve, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to forge critical partnerships, influence effectively, and develop solutions which result in mutually beneficial outcomes
  • Knowledge of philanthropy and nonprofit sector a plus
  • Lead robust thought leadership program for distribution across earned, owned and paid channels from inception through execution and reporting
  • Collaborate with key partners such as corporate communications, marketing channel and research and insights leads, and subject-matter experts, to develop and execute content programs that deliver measurable outcomes against audience objectives
  • Directly lead the project management and creation of content and campaign assets in support of the thought leadership strategy including, but not limited to: reports, blogs and presentations to support high-profile speaking engagements, infographics, video, marketing collateral
  • Coach and mentor content and marketing team members to create and deliver content.
  • Drive special projects and campaigns in support of broader organizational initiatives designed to elevate the Fidelity Charitable brand in the marketplace and support more effective giving.
