The Role

Fidelity Tax-Exempt Market’s (TEM) Product and Strategy Product Area is seeking an ambitious, client-obsessed team member who has a strong history of strategic planning and portfolio management. An associate who enjoys working collaboratively with others across the enterprise and who can inform decision-making and identify opportunities to deliver against key strategic initiatives critical to the long-term success of the TEM organization.

The role will require one to:

  • Build effective business cases against lookahead efforts, inclusive of competitive implications, revenue and expense modeling, and/or understanding of key internal business priorities to identify and develop opportunities.

  • Develop TEM strategies and communicate them effectively to the teams responsible for developing and executing against them, including TEM Senior Leadership and key business stakeholders.

  • Effectively program manage to pull together information across a diverse set of individuals and teams, articulate the full story across multiple streams of work, and influence the prioritization of products/offerings/initiatives to ensure that TEM and its partners are delivering the most impactful work for our business.

  • Be curious and have a passion for the TEM business and its participants (mission-driven individuals in the Healthcare, Higher Education, or other skilled professions and non-profits) and the unique business opportunities they present.

  • Enjoy leading change and have a record of building strong working relationships with interpersonal skills, empathy, adaptability, and emotional intelligence.

  • Be a self-starter who is comfortable operating independently when needed.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Ability to be a strategic thought partner, using data and insights to help develop strategies to support senior leadership and business partner decision making.

  • Ability to balance big picture thinking about our market and industry with a get it done, execution-oriented attitude.

  • Keep a pulse on the market (e.g., Healthcare and Higher Education) to maintain knowledge of customer expectations, industry dynamics, and competitive trends.

  • Synthesize complex data from multiple, disparate sources and present analyses, relevant insights, and themes in a simple/clear way.

  • Oversee complex programs by tracking the status, dependencies, priority, and progress of that work, escalating items where necessary to leadership.

  • Ability to build credibility and trust with partners and stakeholders across the enterprise and influence without authority.

  • Excellent written & oral communication skills and organizational skills

Knowledge/Industry Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 10+ years functional experience, with focus on business strategy and/or program management.

The Team

The TEM Product Area sits within the broader TEM organization and is a collaborative and dedicated team of passionate learners. This diverse group of business strategists, product specialists, and technologists is focused on exploring opportunities for Fidelity’s Tax-Exempt Market with senior-level visibility and support.

  • TEM provides retirement plan services to plan sponsors and their employees at not-for-profit organizations (e.g., healthcare systems, colleges & universities).

  • Our dedicated business unit includes client-facing associates (e.g., Relationship Managers, Communications Consultants, Financial Planners), strategy & analytics teams, and product developers.

  • Fidelity’s hybrid working model blends the best of both onsite and offsite work experiences. Having the majority of our associates work onsite is important for our business strategy and our culture. We also value the benefits that working offsite offers associates. Most roles listed as Hybrid will require associates to work onsite all business days of every other week in a Fidelity office. This does not apply to roles listed as Remote or Onsite.

  • Note: If you are a FINRA registered internal employee who is considering moving to a non-licensed role, you may want to proactively have a conversation with the hiring manger to understand the potential impact to your registrations before a final hiring decision is made.

The base salary range for this position is $110,000-222,000 USD per year.  

Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
