Role Overview: Director of Technology Operations & Systems Strategy

We’re seeking a highly capable systems-minded leader to serve as the connective tissue across our internal technology stack. This person will own and evolve our core systems infrastructure, with a focus on streamlining operations, increasing organizational efficiency, and identifying smart, scalable platforms that connect data, teams, and workflows across the business.

This is not a maintenance role—it’s a strategic operational role for someone who thrives on solving inefficiencies, connecting fragmented systems, and bringing enterprise thinking into a high-growth, performance-driven environment.

Why This Role Matters:

This role is about bringing discipline, clarity, and cohesion to how our internal systems operate and support the business. You’ll play a central role in reducing operational friction, increasing velocity, and setting the stage for sustainable scale. This is a role for someone ready to own internal tech infrastructure now, with the potential to grow into enterprise-wide tech leadership.
This role requires daily in-person attendance in Wakefield, MA.
What You’ll Own:

  • Technology Ecosystem Management
    • Map, understand, and continuously monitor all internal tools, platforms, and system integrations used across departments.
    • Identify redundancies, manual workflows, and data silos, and recommend improvements that align with business needs.
  • Enterprise Systems Strategy & Enablement
    • Define and drive a systems strategy that enables cross-functional visibility, automation, and scalability.
    • Identify and implement overarching solutions (e.g. integration platforms, workflow management systems, data hubs) that help unify the organization.
  • IT Operations & Infrastructure
    • Manage core infrastructure tools and ensure the right people have the right access.
    • Lead technology vendor management, licensing, renewals, and security posture across the organization.
  • Execution & Enablement
    • Translate strategic vision into tactical implementation.
    • Collaborate with department heads to understand pain points and deliver technology solutions that drive productivity.
    • Own system documentation, knowledge management, and IT governance processes.
    • Manage licensing, vendor negotiations, and technology renewals.
  • Security & Compliance Readiness
    • Support enterprise security initiatives including SOC 2 prep, phishing simulations, data governance, and quarterly security reviews.

Qualifications

  • 7–10+ years in IT, systems operations, or enterprise architecture roles.
  • Strong experience with cloud-based enterprise platforms, SaaS tools, and internal systems integration.
  • A builder's mindset—someone who loves designing and improving systems, not just managing them.
  • Deep understanding of how technology connects teams, data, and business goals.
  • Ability to navigate between big-picture strategy and day-to-day execution.
  • A bias for ownership, clarity, and delivery—no handholding required.
