EisnerAmper’s tax team is seeking a Director of Tax Finance to join their growing team. This role is hybrid with 3 days per week in office. This is a leadership role, directly managing the Revenue Cycle & Billing Operations and Pricing, Realization & Profitability functions, and working in close, dotted-line partnership with the FP&A team on budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. This position reports directly to the Tax Service Line COO and will work closely with tax leaders across the practice as well as the broader Finance Group. What Work You Will be Responsible For:

  • Oversee profitability & realization initiatives, including direct conversations with partners/directors responsible for billing

  • Oversee pricing strategy, engagement economics, and bill rate setting

  • Oversee monthly billing and collection initiatives, including direct conversations with partners/directors responsible for billing

  • Maintain compliance with engagement letter requirements and firm time entry and billing policies

  • Oversee AR aging management, write-off approvals, the tax locator AR lock policy, and escalation of at-risk balances

  • Lead and develop Tax Operations team members

  • Work closely with the FP&A team to align budgeting, forecasting, and reporting priorities

  • Set priorities and provide guidance across budgeting/forecasting, billing/collections, and pricing/profitability workstreams

  • Serve as primary financial advisor to the Tax Service Line COO and tax practice leadership

  • Develop annual tax practice budget with the Tax Service Line COO

  • Oversee preparation of the monthly reporting package, including P&L, KPIs, headcount, and utilization, for practice leadership and other key stakeholders

  • Prepare forecasts on billings, collections, realization, and other financial metrics

  • Work with local tax service line and niche leaders on the economics of their offices/niches

  • Participate in periodic Tax Partner meetings to discuss practice economics

  • Review post-engagement economics against pricing assumptions

  • Participate in and lead ad hoc special projects related to client economics, including annual client continuance meetings

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, or equivalent work experience

  • 10+ years of experience in a finance role, with particular emphasis on operations and financial leadership

  • Prior experience managing and developing a team

Preferred/Desired Qualifications:

  • Familiarity or work experience in public accounting preferred

  • Strong project management skills

  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple or changing work tasks

  • Ability to work remotely and in office when necessary

  • Ability to lead presentations to leaders at various levels

Physical Requirements

This position primarily operates in a professional office environment and requires the ability to sit for extended periods while using a computer and telephone. The role also involves occasional standing, walking, bending, and lifting of items up to 20 pounds. Visual acuity, manual dexterity, and clear communication skills are essential.
