About Wider Circle

Wider Circle is a mission-driven healthcare organization working to improve health outcomes for older adults and complex populations by addressing the social, clinical, and community barriers that keep people from getting the care they need. We partner with health plans and local organizations to build trusted relationships with members, help them stay engaged in care, and support healthier lives in communities across the country.

About the Role

Wider Circle is entering a period of significant growth, and we are looking for a Director of Talent Acquisition to lead our recruiting function as we scale while maintaining quality, culture, and the candidate experience.

This is our first Director-level Talent Acquisition leadership role. You will own recruiting execution across business lines and support functions, lead and develop a growing team of Talent Acquisition Specialists, and strengthen the sourcing strategies, operating rhythms, dashboards, and standards needed to support rapid headcount growth.

This role is both strategic and hands-on. You will be expected to set direction, improve systems, coach recruiters, partner closely with leaders, and raise the bar on how Wider Circle attracts, evaluates, and hires talent.

You will also serve as a steward of our culture. Our “Love, Learn, Grow” ethos is central to who we are, and you will help translate that into compelling candidate stories, sourcing strategies, job postings, and hiring experiences that make people want to join Wider Circle and stay.

What You’ll Own
  • Recruiting Operations and Quality: Lead day-to-day recruiting execution across all hiring tracks, ensuring a consistent, high-quality process for candidates and hiring managers. You will establish clear expectations, run daily team huddles and weekly pipeline reviews, audit interview quality, drive scorecard completion, and coach the team toward consistent monthly hiring output.
  • Pipeline Performance and Metrics: Own recruiting performance reporting, including time-to-fill, funnel health, conversion rates, source effectiveness, recruiter productivity, and candidate experience. You will establish credible role-specific benchmarks, identify risks early, and ensure the team meets hiring goals without lowering the talent bar.
  • Strategic Sourcing and Community Partnerships: Build sustainable pipelines for high-priority roles, especially Community Health Workers and other frontline healthcare or community-based positions. You will map competitive markets, test sourcing channels, build partnerships, and develop strategies that make Wider Circle a more visible and compelling employer of choice.
  • Talent Standards and Hiring Manager Partnership: Partner with executives, directors, and hiring managers to clarify role requirements, keep job descriptions current, develop compelling candidate pitches, and ensure hiring decisions reflect both business needs and Wider Circle’s standards.
  • Team Leadership and Scaling: Manage, develop, and hold accountable a team of Talent Acquisition Specialists, with the ability to flex capacity through contract or 1099 recruiters as needed. You will foster a team culture grounded in urgency, ownership, accountability, and care for the candidate experience.
  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Create clear handoffs among Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, IT, Finance, HR, and business leaders so new hires move smoothly from offer acceptance to onboarding readiness.

RequirementsWhat You Bring

You have 7–10 years of full-cycle recruiting experience, including at least 3 years in healthcare, human services, community health, or a related environment.

You have also:

  • Led a high-volume recruiting team, ideally supporting 50-100+ hires per month over a sustained period.
  • Recruited Community Health Workers, frontline healthcare workers, allied health professionals, or similar community-based roles.
  • Managed recruiters, including contract or 1099 recruiting resources.
  • Improved or scaled recruiting infrastructure, playbooks, dashboards, and operating rhythms in a high-growth or high-volume environment.
  • Used data to manage pipeline health, recruiter performance, time-to-fill, and sourcing effectiveness.
  • Communicated clearly and directly with senior leaders, including when the message involves risk, tradeoffs, or missed targets.
  • Written, tested, and optimized job postings for competitive hourly and professional roles, especially on Indeed or similar platforms.
How You Work

You are:

  • A systems-minded operator. You know how to strengthen what is working, add structure where needed, and help a recruiting function perform at a higher level.
  • A talent bar-raiser. You understand the pressure to fill roles quickly, but you do not confuse speed with lowering standards.
  • A data-driven leader. You track leading indicators, spot risks early, and use metrics to improve both recruiter performance and hiring outcomes.
  • A strong people manager. You know how to drive accountability, coach performance, and create urgency without micromanaging.
  • A practical problem-solver. You can zoom out to strategy and zoom in to unblock a requisition, improve a job post, or coach a recruiter through a difficult search.
  • Mission-driven. Wider Circle’s work at the intersection of community, health equity, and social care should genuinely energize you.
Nice to Have
  • Recruiting experience across all 50 states.
  • Familiarity with Community Health Worker certification frameworks or the community health workforce landscape.
  • Experience with Workable or similar applicant tracking systems.
  • Experience scaling a recruiting function in a startup or high-growth environment.
  • Background managing CHW, clinical, physician, or healthcare recruiter networks.

BenefitsWhat Wider Circle Offers
  • Base pay range of $115,000-$130,000
  • Annual incentive bonus
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • 401(k) plan
  • Generous paid time off, including your birthday off and 9 company holidays
  • Remote-first culture with periodic travel to our growth markets
  • The chance to build something that matters — and to see the direct impact of your work on communities across the country

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
