About This Role:
The Director of Strategy and Operations for the US Nephrology Franchise plays a crucial role in ensuring the team is optimally positioned to achieve strategic goals and business priorities. Reporting to the Head of the US Nephrology Franchise, you will serve as the chief of staff and a key member of the US Nephrology Leadership Team. This position involves establishing and managing a portfolio of strategic initiatives in collaboration with cross-functional leaders to drive innovation and alignment. You will guide the development and execution of the US Launch Strategy for nephrology assets, chair the US Launch Operations Team, and oversee a project manager for launch planning. Your influence will extend across project teams, providing matrixed leadership and advisory to enhance operational excellence. This role offers significant learning and development opportunities, requiring a combination of problem-solving skills, adaptability to fast-paced environments, and effective communication with senior executives.

What you'll do:

  • Support the development of a 3–5-year strategic vision for Nephrology in partnership with the Nephrology Leadership Team.
  • Drive effective decision-making and execution of strategic initiatives within the Nephrology team.
  • Facilitate operations for Leadership Team meetings and escalate organizational issues as needed.
  • Lead and manage strategic cross-functional projects for the US Nephrology Franchise.
  • Act as a consultant to guide project consistency and strategic coordination.
  • Support the Head of the US Nephrology Franchise as chief of staff, preparing for executive-level business reviews.
  • Coordinate with other critical teams, including other US Franchises and global Nephrology teams.
  • Serve as the US Nephrology integration lead for future acquisitions and contribute to business development assessments.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum 10 years of broad-based experience in commercial life sciences or related consulting
  • Strong leadership, planning, and organization skills.
  • Proficiency in analytics, decision-making, and problem-solving.
  • Experience in building and leading teams to achieve business results.
  • Knowledge of US pharmaceutical commercial dynamics.
  • Strategic thinker capable of creating vision and driving alignment.
  • Experience with brand marketing and/or strategy at a major affiliate level.
  • Proven ability to lead/manage complex strategic initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in the Nephrology or Transplant space.
  • MBA or other advanced degree preferred.

Additional Information

The base compensation range for this role is: $195,000.00-$269,000.00


Base salary offered is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.
