Director, Strategy & Operations - Compensation, Planning and Insights

Your Mission:

Commercial Strategy & Operations (“CSO”) (i.e., Lantern’s Revenue Operations team) supports the President and his broader go-to-market function, including Sales, Client Success, Marketing, Channel Partners (health plans, ecosystem partners, and benefits consultants/brokers), and Provider Network Development. CSO is responsible for Commercial strategy, planning, insights, systems/tools, process, and data. This role sits within CSO and will collaborate closely with each of these Commercial Leaders to translate growth ambitions into a Commercial Annual Plan, including Commercial Objectives & Key Results (“OKRs”), coverage models, compensation plans, compensation policies, quotas, and territories – in line with Lantern’s financial objectives.

What You Will Do (Responsibilities):


  • Support the Commercial Leadership Team in developing the Commercial Annual Plan: how the business will grow ACV and revenue next year, and the integrated functional plans that achieve that growth. This includes segments, distribution channels, job design, capacity, territory, quotas, and compensation design
  • After designing incentives (e.g., measures, weights, quotas, policies, and procedures), manage compensation for all Commercial roles (e.g., plan documents, calculators, obtain signatures, document information in a system of record, train the field, etc.)
  • Work cross-functionally with Finance, Analytics, CEO, Strategy, and others to set Commercial OKRs and KPIs that ensure teams prioritize the right activities
  • Using deep analytical skills and business acumen, regularly uncover the root causes of Commercial outcomes and partner with CSO teammates to propose an action plan that corrects course

 What You Will Bring (Requirements):


  • Bachelor’s degree in a business or related field
  • 8-12+ years of experience in Revenue Operations or Business Operations at a high-growth company or division
  • 3+ years leading Sales Compensation Design, Compensation Management, quota-setting, and Territory Design
  • Excellent Salesforce.com, Excel and Powerpoint skills
  • Excellent organization and project management skills; able to hold yourself and others accountable to outcomes
  • Experience in healthcare, employer benefits, or digital health a plus

  • Keep extremely busy leaders organized, documenting decisions, managing task lists, and staying on top of deadlines
  • Deeply understand Lantern’s business model to align incentives to behaviors that drive business results and profitable growth
  • Be resilient, hard-working, and able to operate in a high-pressure, dynamic environment
  • Collaborate well with Commercial teams, building trust and navigating contentious topics
