Vantor is seeking a Director of Strategic Sourcing to join our Procurement organization. This role partners closely with Space Engineering to lead sourcing strategy and supplier management across critical spending categories supporting satellite constellation programs.  

 

The ideal candidate is a strategic, data-driven deal maker who can lead end-to-end sourcing initiatives, build strong cross-functional partnerships, and negotiate complex supplier agreements. This leader will ensure supplier performance, cost optimization, and scalable procurement processes that support mission-critical programs. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Build trusted relationships with engineering, technical, and business stakeholders to align sourcing strategies with program objectives 

  • Analyze supplier landscape and market dynamics to develop category strategies and multi-year sourcing roadmaps 

  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure programs remain within approved cost targets and financial guardrails 

  • Lead end-to-end sourcing processes, including: 

  • Vendor selection 

  • Proofs of concept (POCs) 

  • RFx events 

  • Supplier evaluation 

  • Contracting and onboarding/offboarding 

  • Negotiate complex agreements with strategic suppliers to achieve best-value outcomes while maintaining strong partnerships 

  • Drive supplier performance management, cost optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives 

  • Ensure procurement processes support scalability, transparency, and compliance, including: 

  • Risk assessment 

  • Purchase order management 

  • Payment processes 

  • Supplier governance 

  • Leverage data analytics and technology (including AI-enabled tools) to enhance sourcing efficiency, insights, and decision-making 

 

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, Supply Chain, Business, or related field; MBA preferred 

  • 10+ years of experience in Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, or Supply Chain, with a focus on aerospace, engineering, or technology categories 

  • Demonstrated expertise in contract negotiation, supplier strategy, and complex sourcing initiatives 

  • Strong analytical and financial modeling capabilities, including cost analysis and total cost of ownership (TCO) evaluation 

  • Proven ability to influence and partner with engineering teams, technical stakeholders, and executive leadership 

  • Experience operating in high-growth or fast-paced environments, bringing structure without hindering innovation 

  • Strong negotiation skills with a collaborative, win-win approach 

  • AI-forward mindset with interest in applying automation and AI tools to sourcing and supplier management 

 

Preferred Experience 

  • Experience sourcing aerospace hardware, satellite systems, engineering services, or advanced technology categories 

Pay Transparency: In support of pay transparency at Vantor, we disclose salary ranges on all U.S. job postings.  The successful candidate’s starting pay will fall within the salary range provided below and is determined based on job-related factors, including, but not limited to, the experience, qualifications, knowledge, skills, geographic work location, and market conditions. Candidates with the minimum necessary experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skillsets for the position should not expect to receive the upper end of the pay range.

● The base pay for this position within Colorado is: $143,000.00 - $238,000.00 annually. 

For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.

Additionally, this position is incentive eligible with a target based on contribution, company performance, and/or individual results achieved; the specific incentive plan and target amount will be determined based on the role and breadth of contributions.
