OverviewThis role supports the Strategic Finance and Business Planning function by leading financial analysis, business case development, investment evaluation, and executive decision support for key strategic initiatives. The position partners cross-functionally with Product Management, Engineering, Sales, Operations, Shared Services, FP&A, Accounting, and senior leadership to evaluate growth opportunities, assess investment returns, support M&A and corporate development activity, and monitor performance against approved business cases.ResponsibilitiesThis role will support the Strategic Finance and Business Planning function by leading financial analysis, investment evaluation, business case development, and executive decision support for key strategic initiatives across the business. The position will partner closely with Product Management, Engineering, Sales, Operations, Shared Services, FP&A, Accounting, and senior leadership to evaluate growth opportunities, support investment decisions, and track performance against approved business cases.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Investment & Business Case Development
Lead the development of financial business cases to support investment decisions for new products, platform enhancements, RFI/RFP responses, and strategic initiatives across the Communications, Payments, and Financial Markets business units.
Build comprehensive financial models to assess revenue potential, cost structure, cash requirements, ROI/NPV, payback period, and long-term profitability.
Develop scenario and sensitivity analyses for key strategic initiatives to support informed decision making.
Cross-Functional Strategic Partnership
Partner with Product Management, Engineering, Sales, Operations, and Shared Services to develop assumptions and inputs required for investment analyses.
Facilitate cross-functional alignment on go-to-market strategies, commercialization approach, and resource requirements.
Serve as a strategic finance advisor to operational leaders on investment prioritization and resource allocation.
Strategic Analysis & Executive Decision Support
Analyze large internal and external data sets to identify market opportunities, operational efficiencies, and growth drivers.
Translate financial analysis into clear strategic insights and recommendations for senior leadership.
Prepare executive-level presentations and materials to support strategic decision making.
Conduct ad hoc financial and strategic analysis to support executive leadership and corporate planning initiatives.
Support the preparation of Board-level strategic materials.
M&A and Corporate Development Support
Support buy-side acquisition analysis, including valuation modeling, synergy assessment, and financial diligence.
Assist with sell-side divestiture analysis and preparation of financial materials for potential transactions.
Build and maintain transaction financial models and scenario analyses.
Investment Governance & Performance Tracking
Partner with FP&A and Accounting to track actual investment spend against approved investment cases.
Monitor performance against expected financial returns, investment milestones, and approved business case assumptions.
Maintain a centralized dashboard of approved investments and pipeline opportunities to support prioritization and capital allocation decisions.
- The ideal candidate will have at least 10+ years of relevant experience.
- For this role, we anticipate paying $162,000 - $198,000 annually. Any compensation range provided for a role is an estimate determined by available market data. The actual amount may be higher or lower than the range provided considering each candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities, and geographic location.
