The Director of Solution Delivery leads product and engineering teams, ensuring delivery outcomes, governance, continuous planning, and process optimizations while managing complex project deliveries and team development.
As a Director of Solution Delivery, you will take ownership of delivery outcomes for an executive level product and engineering team. This team owns shaping and delivering on a set of investments. The team will define the high-level problems for the organization to solve and will have total ownership of delivering solutions to those problems. This team will have a laser focus on shaping the organization to achieve business outcomes and will take on the challenges associated with driving an organization to a high performing state.

Compensation:
Compensation includes a base salary of $144,900.00 - $241,500.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
Expectations:
- Facilitate the creation and delivery of investments by the delivery stream.
- Drive governance that ensures roadmap alignment, prioritization and trade-offs with business partners.
- Establish and maintain operations that support a continuous planning and rolling forecast cycle, with the goal of balancing delivery flexibility with sustainable predictability through first class risk management and other best in class agile program management practices
- Coach VP, AVP and Director level team members to collaboratively communicate, identify true root cause of issues, and use business priorities to drive organizational focus.
- Maintain impeccable investment (and included capability) hygiene and ensure that all radiated information is reliable, meaningful, and readable.
- Drive consistent used of metrics to assess risks to delivery and drive prioritization and decision making
- Assess, own and communicate risks and dependencies across delivery streams and portfolios; remove impediments as needed to get work across the finish line.
- Identify and implement solutions to issues that address true root cause of issues or clearly articulate trade off when only symptoms will be addressed.
- Optimize delivery through systemic process improvements that ultimately reduces waste and errors. Drive full adoption of those optimizations throughout your entire organization using modern change management tactics.
- Evolve the adaptability of your delivery stream through the shaping of value delivery and driving full utilization of an information architecture that enables scaled agility and the flexible application of resources to investments
- Staff the release train engineer and scrum master roles with team members who possess the characteristics, skills and knowledge to own outcomes at the release train and scrum team levels.
- Manage release train engineer and scrum master performance which aligns with the Solution Delivery organization's vision and annual objectives; ensure release train engineers and scrum masters know what outcomes are expected of them and have a current sense of how they are performing against those expectations. Deal with Performance problems in a swift and consistent manner and ensure that every one of your employees occupies the "right role / right level" for their combination of characteristics, skills, and subject matter expertise.
WHO YOU ARE
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 10 years' experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and 8 years' experience; a Ph.D. and 5 years' experience in a related field; or 14 years' experience in a related field
- 10+ years of professional experience focused in agile delivery
- 3+ years managing and leading employees and complex team efforts in a scaled agile environment (direct people leadership)
- 5+ years of experience leading product delivery teams, or equivalent program and project management experience on large complex technical projects/programs
- 5+ yrs. of direct experience successfully driving systemic continuous improvement with software development teams using Scrum or Kanban
- Mastery of the SDLC, demonstrated by expertise on the various phases of work associated with software development
- Mastery of the Agile framework, demonstrated by expertise on how to achieve the positive outcomes associated with Agile
- Demonstrated success resolving inter-team / intra-team conflict and building relationships in a complex team environment
- Mastery of industry standard information radiators (preferably Rally; but experience with JIRA, TFS or another standard radiator will be considered)
- Advanced skills writing queries and ability to interpret data (strong Excel or Tableau skills are a plus)
- Must be comfortable up to 25% travel
- Must live within a commutable distance to the office
