Iron Mountain Data Centres (IMDC) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director, Site Development Strategy to lead land and power acquisition efforts across the EMEA region. This leadership role is critical in identifying, qualifying, and securing sites for future data center development while ensuring long-term energy strategy and regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will play a key role in expanding IMDC’s presence across EMEA and delivering on its commitment to sustainability and operational excellence.

Your role in our mission

  • Develop and execute IMDC’s site development strategy across key EMEA markets.
    Source and evaluate land acquisition opportunities through brokers, developers, and local stakeholders.

  • Manage zoning, entitlements, permitting, and government approvals to ensure project readiness.

  • Lead EMEA energy strategy development, including power procurement and renewable initiatives.

  • Engage with utility providers to assess and secure power availability and delivery timelines.

  • Build and lead a regional team to support site qualification, regulatory processes, and infrastructure delivery.

Valued skills and experience

  • Numerous experience in data center, infrastructure, or commercial real estate development in EMEA.

  • Deep knowledge of site selection, permitting, and land acquisition processes across multiple jurisdictions.

  • Demonstrated expertise in power strategy, utility negotiations, and renewable energy procurement.

  • Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills across internal teams and external partners.

  • Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and delivering complex, multi-market projects.
    Understanding of ESG goals, compliance frameworks, and sustainability-focused development.
