POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Director of Sales is a key leadership role responsible for driving revenue growth, strengthening sales performance, and developing a high-performing team of Sales Managers.As the senior sales leader supporting the VP of Sales & Events, this role ensures that Evergreen is positioned as a premier destination for meetings and events. The Director of Sales oversees day-to-day sales activity, optimizes the team’s pipeline and close ratios, leads coaching and development, and collaborates cross-functionally to execute on long-term strategy, forecasting, and business development initiatives.
The base salary range for this position is $95000 - $110000 based on relevant experience. Additionally, this position qualifies for annual incentive pay along with our comprehensive benefits package.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leadership & Team Development
- Lead and develop high-performing Sales Managers through coaching, training, regular performance and pipeline reviews, and clear accountability.
- Establish consistent sales standards and a collaborative team culture that strengthens skills, improves close rates, and drives sustained performance.
- Sales Strategy & Revenue Growth
- Oversee day-to-day private event sales and pipeline management, partnering with senior leadership to execute revenue strategies aligned with overall business and space management goals.
- Drive revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities, leading targeted prospecting in key markets, and supporting high-value negotiations and major client deals.
- Sales Operations & Reporting
- Oversee sales operations and reporting by managing forecasting, budgeting, and CRM/event systems to ensure accurate, consistent data.
- Monitor performance and market trends to provide insights and adjust sales strategies in real time.
- Client Engagement & Relationship Management
- Serve as a senior, client-facing leader by supporting key opportunities, representing Evergreen externally, and providing executive presence in high-impact proposals, presentations, and site tours.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate across teams to ensure seamless execution, strong brand visibility, and alignment between sales and organizational objectives.
CHARACTERISTICS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- 8+ years of experience in event sales, hospitality sales, or related experience; previous team leadership required.
- Bachelor’s degree is required.
- Demonstrated success managing a sales team, coaching talent, and driving accountability.
- Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and KPI management.
- Proven ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and represent a brand with professionalism and energy.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Passion for people-development, culture, and creating memorable client experiences.
- Experience with CRM systems and pipeline management tools (Salesforce, Tripleseat, Social Tables, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Asana, etc)
