About Us:

Let’s face it—client care that was once warm and personalized has become cold and clinical. Portrait is here to change that.

Portrait is a breakthrough collective of healthcare visionaries joined in their desire to deliver inspired care. We are handling the headaches that can keep providers from doing their best work and living their best lives. Our transformative model and first-of-its-kind platform empowers ambitious providers to fall back in love with aesthetic medicine—and deliver the personalized care that clients deserve.

We are one of the fastest-growing healthcare technology startups ever and recently raised more than $20m in Series A funding from leading Silicon Valley VC firms and individual investors like the founders and leaders of DreamWorks, GoodRx, Dropbox, Stripe, and more. Our diverse, fiercely passionate team — composed of industry veterans and hyper-growth operators that have built multi-billion dollar companies — is united in our focus to put expert providers back in the driver’s seat of their careers to transform the way that care is delivered.

We are committed to our mission and vision and work hard as a collective to make it a reality. Let’s change the face of healthcare and make dream work a reality — together.

About the Role:

As Sales Director, you’ll lead the charge in scaling our go-to-market strategy across the medical aesthetics ecosystem. You will own revenue growth, manage a high-performing sales team, and build strategic relationships with key suppliers, providers, clinicians and Doctors. You will partner closely with other leaders across Marketing, Product, Onboarding and Customer Success. This is a senior leadership role ideal for someone who thrives in high-growth environments, is passionate about transforming healthcare delivery, and is driven by data, relationships, and results.

About You:
  • 2+ Years as a Sales manager of a team of 6+ Sales Representatives
  • Strong experience in Medical Aesthetics or Healthcare
  • Hands-on approach to strategic deals
  • Coaching-mindset that enables you to teach and cultivate high-potential individuals
  • Experience building systems and processes to remove friction from GTM initiatives
  • Performance-oriented management style that allows you to manage large teams making thousands of outreach attempts per day
  • Experience working in a high-technology startup environment where things are dynamic, the product is constantly improving, and our sales approach is changing

Portrait is an equal opportunity employer, we encourage all to apply, even if you do not meet each requirement above. We are building a diverse, inclusive workforce and hope you will join us!

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
