About Bolt Farm Treehouse

Bolt Farm Treehouse creates luxury, nature-immersive hospitality experiences that help guests disconnect from everyday demands and reconnect with each other. We’re looking for a hands-on commercial leader who can turn guest interest into bookings, build a high-performing sales team, and grow profitable revenue across the guest journey.

The opportunity

As Director of Sales (internally, we call this role our Head of Revenue), you’ll lead our phone-sales function and coordinate revenue improvement across reservations, digital booking, rebooking, referrals, and guest enhancements.

This is a working leadership role. You’ll review sales conversations, coach the team, improve follow-up, investigate missed opportunities, and turn performance data into action. You’ll also partner with Marketing, Guest Experience, Operations, Finance, and Technology to improve how revenue is generated and measured.

You don’t need to have held a Director of Sales or Head of Revenue title. You do need a demonstrated record of leading a sales team, improving results, and building repeatable processes that extend beyond your own selling ability.

What you’ll own
  • Sales leadership: Lead, coach, and develop the phone-sales team, strengthening call quality, lead response, follow-up, conversion, and individual accountability.

  • Lead conversion: Improve inbound and outbound sales workflows, including inquiry recovery, database reactivation, and missed-opportunity follow-up.

  • Revenue planning: Build and execute a prioritized revenue plan with clear owners, milestones, resource needs, and measurable outcomes.

  • Guest lifecycle growth: Partner with guest-facing teams to improve repeat bookings, referrals, upgrades, spa bookings, and experience purchases.

  • Commercial visibility: Maintain reliable reporting and forecasts by revenue stream, identifying performance gaps and corrective actions.

  • Profitable growth: Evaluate acquisition costs, selling costs, discounting, and contribution, not just top-line bookings.

  • Cross-functional execution: Coordinate commercial initiatives with department leaders, resolve dependencies, and escalate decisions that require leadership support.

  • Systems improvement: Partner with Technology and Marketing on CRM workflows, attribution, automation, and booking-funnel improvements.

You’ll own the commercial performance framework and directly lead sales. Department leaders will retain responsibility for their teams’ operational delivery.

Minimum requirements
  • Experience directly managing and coaching a phone-based sales, inside-sales, reservations, or comparable call-center team in a small-to-medium-sized business.

  • Demonstrated improvement in team sales results, supported by examples such as higher conversion, increased revenue, stronger follow-up, or improved sales productivity.

  • Hands-on experience reviewing calls, coaching sellers, managing performance, and implementing consistent sales processes.

  • Working proficiency with a CRM, sales reporting, pipeline management, and forecasting.

  • Ability to interpret funnel metrics and commercial economics, identify root causes, and prioritize actions based on revenue and profitability.

  • Experience delivering improvements that require collaboration across sales and at least one other function, such as marketing, operations, finance, or technology.

  • Clear communication, strong follow-through, and the ability to turn an ambiguous problem into an executable plan.

Preferred qualifications
  • Experience in luxury hospitality, travel, premium consumer services, or another relationship-driven, high-consideration purchase environment.

  • Experience leading a distributed sales team.

  • Success building rebooking, referral, retention, or customer-reactivation programs.

  • Exposure to digital conversion optimization, revenue management, or ancillary sales.

  • Practical experience using automation and AI to improve sales workflows, coaching, or reporting.

What success looks like
  • A well-coached sales team with clear expectations and consistent execution.

  • Reliable visibility into revenue performance, conversion, and the forward outlook.

  • A focused, leadership-aligned plan addressing the highest-value opportunities.

  • Measurable improvements in sales effectiveness and guest lifecycle revenue.

  • Repeatable processes that produce profitable growth without relying on constant discounting.

Compensation

The annual base salary is $110,000, with performance incentives targeting $205,450 in total annual compensation and uncapped revenue-based upside. Target compensation is not guaranteed; incentive eligibility and payouts are governed by the applicable compensation plan.

So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
