Virta is the first company with a clinically-proven treatment to safely and sustainably reverse type 2 diabetes and other chronic metabolic diseases without the use of medications or surgery. Our innovations in nutritional biochemistry, data science and digital tools combined with our clinical expertise are shifting the diabetes treatment paradigm from management to reversal. Our mission - to reverse type 2 diabetes in 100 million people by 2025.

As a Head of Public Sector Sales for Virta you will be responsible for selling to Public Forum sales which will include State Entities, Government Entities, and local municipalities. This role will be focusing on larger institutions with over 5,000 members. You will have the opportunity to help build our commercialization efforts and capitalize on the national attention Virta is receiving for our industry-changing work.

Responsibilities

  • Pick up established prospect funnel and move prospective clients through to contracting phase and close

  • Leverage demand generation work from marketing team to create new opportunities

  • Growth - Close new logo’s to provide Expected Enrollments

  • Further promote Virta as an innovative online diabetes reversal solution

  • Work closely with Virta team members to provide client/prospect feedback

  • Work directly with SLEd team to support feedback on market

90 Day Plan

Within your first 90 days at Virta, we expect you will do the following:

  • Build internal relationships with Virta team members

  • Learn the Virta story and begin pitching to prospective clients

  • Begin outreach to prospects currently in the funnel

  • Create and begin executing business plan for success

Requirements
  • 5-7 years experience selling digital health solutions to the public space - Federal, State and Local

  • Quantifiable history of hitting personal sales targets

  • Ability to present clearly to key decision makers

  • Consultative selling experience

  • Ability to proactively manage pipeline

  • Demonstrated collaboration with internal colleagues (marketing, product, ops, etc.) to support sales momentum

  • A passion for improving the health of millions of people

  • The ability to thrive in a fast-growing startup environment

Preferred Requirements
  • Existing relationships with key decision makers at large institutions or consulting houses that specialize in public sector

  • Knowledge of Type 2 diabetes and of potential competitors

As part of your duties at Virta, you may come in contact with sensitive patient information that is governed by HIPAA. Throughout your career at Virta, you will be expected to follow Virta's security and privacy procedures to ensure our patients' information remains strictly confidential. Security and privacy training will be provided.

As a remote-first company, our team is spread across various locations with office hubs in Denver and San Francisco.
