If you're passionate about education, love building relationships, and get excited about helping schools create healthier, more sustainable environments, you might be interested in our Director of Sales–Education opportunity.

At FloWater, we're changing the way people think about water. We're not just selling a water dispenser — we're helping organizations eliminate single-use plastic, improve access to great-tasting water, and create more sustainable spaces.

We're looking for an experienced sales leader who knows the education market, understands how school districts and educational organizations buy, and can turn big opportunities into long-term partnerships. This is a strategic, high-impact role for someone who can open doors, navigate complex organizations, and grow FloWater's presence across K-12, higher education, and other education-focused organizations.

About Us:

We believe everyone deserves water they can trust — and actually love drinking. Since 2013, FloWater has been on a mission to transform the way the world drinks water, one Refill Station at a time.

Today, more than 16,000 FloWater Refill Stations across the United States hydrate millions of people every year inside some of the world's biggest and coolest brands in fitness, hospitality, education, and beyond.

We're not just another water company. We're building the most loved water brand in the country and redefining what people expect from drinking water. We move fast, think big, care deeply about our customers and our mission, and believe work should be both meaningful and fun.

What You'll Do:

As a National Account Director, you'll own the strategy and sales process for high-value national and multi-location opportunities — from the first conversation through negotiation, close, implementation, and expansion.

  • Drive Education Sales Strategy: Develop and execute sales strategies to grow FloWater's presence across K-12 schools, school districts, higher education, and other educational organizations.
  • Build the Pipeline: Identify, prospect, and close high-value opportunities across individual schools, districts, multi-school systems, and multi-campus organizations.
  • Own Strategic Relationships: Build trusted relationships with superintendents, administrators, facilities leaders, procurement teams, sustainability leaders, and other key decision-makers.
  • Navigate Education Procurement: Understand and successfully navigate education purchasing processes, budgets, procurement requirements, district decision-making structures, and cooperative purchasing opportunities.
  • Expand Strategic Accounts: Identify opportunities to grow existing relationships across additional schools, campuses, departments, and districts.
  • Own Pipeline & Forecasting: Maintain a healthy pipeline, manage opportunities through the sales process, and provide accurate forecasting and reporting to sales leadership.
  • Build Strategic Partnerships: Identify and develop relationships with organizations, associations, and partners that can accelerate FloWater's growth within the education market.
  • Tell the FloWater Story: Clearly communicate FloWater's value proposition and build compelling business cases around sustainability, wellness, cost, and the student and staff experience.
  • Be the Education Expert: Bring insight into education-market trends, purchasing behaviors, challenges, and opportunities to help shape FloWater's broader go-to-market strategy.
  • Partner Across the Business: Collaborate with Marketing, Customer Success, Operations, Finance, and Sales leadership to ensure a strong customer experience from first conversation through implementation and expansion.
  • Represent FloWater in the Market: Attend customer meetings, conferences, trade shows, and other education-related events to build relationships, generate opportunities, and increase FloWater's visibility.
  • Be a Great Teammate: Share market insights, collaborate openly, and bring a high level of ownership, energy, and urgency to everything you do.

What Makes You a Great Fit:

We're looking for someone who is competitive, curious, confident, and energized by making things happen. You'll thrive here if you:

  • 7+ years of successful B2B sales experience, preferably with experience selling into K-12, higher education, or public-sector organizations.
  • Lead, develop, and manage a high-performing team, providing clear direction, coaching, and support to achieve business goals.
  • Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets and developing new business.
  • Strong understanding of education purchasing, procurement, budgeting, and decision-making processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles and build relationships with senior decision makers.
  • Strong strategic account planning, business development, negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Highly organized and disciplined with strong pipeline management, forecasting, and CRM skills.
  • Ability to develop strategic partnerships and identify opportunities for district-wide and multi-location growth.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
  • Self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and confident with strong executive presence.
  • Passionate about FloWater’s product, customers, mission, and opportunity to improve hydration and sustainability in schools.
  • Willingness to travel nationally to support customer meetings, conferences, trade shows, and other Education-focused events and activities; must be within 60 miles of a major airport.

Why FloWater?

We work hard, move fast, and believe work should be something you actually enjoy doing. You'll join a team that's passionate about what we're building, celebrates wins, supports each other, and isn't afraid to have some fun along the way.

You'll work with recognizable brands, make an impact at a growing company, and sell a product people genuinely love. And yes — we take hydration seriously. We just don't take ourselves too seriously.

What We Offer

  • Competitive compensation $110K - $125K (+ commission)
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • FSA
  • 401(k)
  • Partially paid parental leave
  • Paid Time Off
  • The opportunity to work for a growing, mission-driven company that is changing the way people drink water
  • A team that values collaboration, authenticity, big ideas, and getting things done

Ready to Make an Impact?

This role is perfect for someone who knows the education market, thrives on building strategic relationships, and is excited to turn big opportunities into lasting partnerships. If you're a strategic thinker, a strong relationship builder, and someone who wants to sell a product with a purpose — we want to meet you.

Come help us deliver outcomes with impact, one Refill Station at a time.

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
