Serve as a high-trust, cross-functional operator resolving employee issues, vendor disputes, compliance gaps, contracts, and finance edge cases. BOLT FARM is building America’s most iconic romantic luxury retreat brand: nature-immersed, high-experience, and emotionally transformative. Backed by 3,300+ five-star reviews, 1M+ followers, and features across Forbes, Travel + Leisure, and Netflix, we’re scaling from a high-performing flagship into a national portfolio. If you want to operate at the ground floor of a brand with real momentum, high standards, and a team obsessed with doing it right, this is your seat. 🚀

Your Team

This role sits inside All Co, the internal backbone of Bolt Farm that supports the entire business across talent, finance, and systems.

You’ll work directly with the Chief of Staff to the Founder and act as a cross-functional operator supporting leaders across Ops Co, Prop Co, and Brand Co.

This is a high-trust, low-bureaucracy environment. There is no traditional HR department. No layers. No handoffs.
You are the system for anything messy, unclear, or high-friction.

Location & Travel

This is a remote-first role, expected to be approximately 90% remote.

That said, this is not a “never come onsite” seat. Because this role owns high-trust, high-friction issues across the business, there will be times when onsite presence is needed at our Whitwell, TN property for sensitive employee matters, onboarding/offboarding, vendor issues, leadership working sessions, investigations, or other situations that require in-person judgment.

We strongly prefer someone based within easy travel distance of Whitwell, especially near Chattanooga, Nashville, Atlanta, Birmingham, Knoxville, Huntsville, or a similar Southeast hub.

You do not need to live in Whitwell. You do need to be able to get here when the situation requires it.

Your Role

This is not HR. This is not legal. This is not finance.

This is the seat that absorbs everything those functions normally fight over.

You step into ambiguous, high-friction situations — employee issues, vendor disputes, compliance gaps, contracts, edge-case finance problems — and drive them to clean, final resolution. Then you document it once and remove it from the system permanently.

You protect leadership time. You remove operational drag. You enforce standards without drama.

For the right person, this is a rare seat: high autonomy, real authority, and direct business impact across the entire company.

What You’ll Own

● Own all HR-related execution: compliance, policy enforcement, employee issues, performance accountability, and terminations
● Handle finance edge cases: vendor disputes, contract negotiations, invoice conflicts, collections, and settlements
● Manage legal-light matters: coordinate with outside counsel, handle government notices, insurance, and workers’ comp
● Serve as the escalation point for anything unclear, messy, or high-risk across the business
● Run onboarding and offboarding processes cleanly and consistently
● Identify recurring issues and turn them into policies, SOPs, or system fixes
● Maintain a clean documentation standard — every decision logged, no re-litigation
● Act as a shield for the Founder and Chief of Staff by reducing noise and solving problems upstream

What Success Looks Like

● Issues get resolved once — cleanly, fairly, and permanently
● Founder and Chief of Staff are no longer pulled into day-to-day friction
● Compliance gaps and policy violations are proactively handled, not reactive
● Vendor disputes and negotiations consistently save or protect meaningful dollars
● Recurring problems turn into systems, not repeated conversations

You are expected to directly protect or recover $150K–$300K+ annually through decisions, negotiations, and system improvements.

Minimum Requirements

● 7+ years of experience across at least two of the following: HR, finance, operations, or legal
● Hands-on experience handling terminations, disputes, vendor contracts, and compliance-related issues
● Experience operating in a 50+ employee environment with responsibility for enforcing standards
● Experience working directly with or coordinating outside counsel
● Proven ability to make independent decisions with real business impact

Nice to Have

● Experience in hospitality, multi-site, or service-based environments
● Familiarity with Tennessee or multi-state employment practices
● Experience negotiating contracts, claims, or settlements directly
● Strong AI/tool usage for drafting, research, and operational efficiency

Who You Are

You are a high-judgment, low-drama operator.

You don’t avoid hard conversations — you move toward them.
You don’t escalate problems — you solve them.
You don’t create complexity — you remove it.

You’re comfortable being the person who says the uncomfortable but correct thing — and then executes on it.

Compensation

● Base Salary: $142,000 – $158,000
● Profit Participation: Target ~$20K tied to company performance and your measurable impact
● Health Stipend: $3,600/year
● Complimentary stays at BOLT FARM properties

Comp is aligned to impact. This role is expected to save and protect real dollars, not just manage processes.

Final Note

If you’re someone who thrives on turning chaos into clean systems,
closing loops others avoid,
and quietly making the business run better…

this role was built for you.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
