The Magna Exteriors portfolio of products includes access systems such as liftgates, exterior trim, modular systems, front-end modules including fascia, active aerodynamic systems and other lightweight structural components for automotive, commercial truck and other industrial markets.

Job Responsibilities:
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director of Purchasing & Supply Chain, Indirect Material reports to the Global Director, Purchasing & Supply Chain and is responsible for key coordination and leadership of these key commodities, while ensuring immediate and long-term strategies are focused and effective.
As a member of the Global Magna Exteriors Purchasing leadership team, this individual responsible for contributing to the overall business strategy, establishing goals and objectives. They are also responsible for building strong, cross-functional internal relationships and key relationships with suppliers.
This position closely collaborates with Purchasing, Plant Materials and Logistics, Operations, Product Line, Engineering, Finance, Manufacturing Strategy, and Data Analytic teams at all levels.

Education: 4-year degree preferred
Work Experience: Minimum 6 years in automotive and/or diversified manufacturing experience, with related technical knowledge of products, processes and technologies.
Minimum 6 years of experience in mid/senior management positions or 10+ years of leadership experience with a track record of progression.
Demonstrated ability to work in and lead in a large matrix organization, work collaboratively with colleagues at all levels of the organization, and get results through others by building constructive, trusting relationships with internal partners and global supply base.
Must have demonstrated success in satisfying OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers in a complex, competitive automotive market. Broad functional experience in areas of strategic planning, materials, manufacturing, purchasing, supply chain management, logistics and cost reduction. Experience with total quality manufacturing management and continuous improvement. Experience in Lean Manufacturing environment is a plus.
Knowledgeable of business quoting and launch processes, industry best practices, standards, and performance metrics.
Travel: Ability to travel up to 25%
Skills/Special Knowledge:
Knowledge of cost modeling and information systems experience highly preferred.
Strong financial knowledge
Very strong PC skills including required along with knowledge and experience with data analysis tools such as Power BI and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead a team of Group Category Managers/Leads for indirect material, supporting Divisions and plants in delivering savings and ensuring effective operations
- Build and enhance global and regional purchasing capabilities to drive year-on-year productivity, cost savings, and operational efficiencies.
- Set qualitative and quantitative targets per category and ensure accountability for achieving cost and non-cost objectives within the purchasing organization
- Collaborate with and challenge Category Managers/Leads to define effective category strategies, incorporating local specifics and optimizing sourcing and supplier management approaches
- Ensure cross-functional collaboration with Exteriors, Magna International, other Groups and functional departments to understand requirements and deliver opportunities for cost and process optimization
- Evaluate supply risks and develop mitigation measures in partnership with Category Managers/Leads, ensuring alignment with key operational priorities
- Deliver strategic communication to suppliers regarding performance and expectations and develop corrective action plans to address performance gaps
- Prepare and present executive summaries on progress including strategy, diversity, cost-reduction, budgets, performance, innovations, and bid or proposal awards to senior leadership and stakeholders
