Hitachi Energy has an exciting new opportunity for a Director of Project Management in North America. This is a remote based role. The role will strategically lead and direct all facets of project management and spare parts operations for Hitachi's Service Business across the North American (NAM) region, encompassing multiple sites in both the US and Canada. This is a pivotal cross-functional leadership role, ensuring all activities strictly adhere to Hitachi's policies, contractual agreements, quality standards, health, safety & environmental (HSE) requirements, financial targets, and scheduled commitments. The role will also be a key driver in process improvement initiatives, continually increasing the effectiveness of project execution to deliver world-class customer experiences.
Key Responsibilities
· Strategic Leadership & Mentorship: Act as a strategic leader and mentor to a team of experienced Managers and Supervisors, empowering them to autonomously lead Project Management & Spare Parts functions across various Service Units in the US and Canada.
· Culture of Excellence: Foster a culture of excellence in project management within the organization, developing and implementing strategies, policies, and procedures to optimize the value of the entire PMO function.
· Innovation & Best Practices: Drive innovation and experimentation to identify and implement new best practices across all Spare Parts and Project Management processes.
· Stakeholder Relationships: Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution and customer satisfaction.
· Continuous Process Improvement: Actively participate in and lead process improvement projects to enhance efficiency and effectiveness across all operational areas.
Qualifications
· Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Experience:
o 10+ years of progressive experience in project management, encompassing both individual contributor and supervisory/managerial roles.
o Minimum of 8 years in materials management/procurement, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.
o Demonstrated experience and a solid understanding of ERP systems (preferably SAP) within a manufacturing and distribution environment.
o Proficiency with various project management methodologies.
· Certifications: Advanced project management certification (e.g., PMP, CSM) is highly preferred.
