As the Director of Production, you will be client-aligned and responsible for overseeing a portfolio of projects at Code and Theory. You will manage a team of producers, ensuring both creative excellence and business growth. Your leadership will drive the vision and strategic goals of the production department.

As Director of Production is a senior leader responsible for defining and driving operational excellence. You will oversee a portfolio of accounts/clients—ensuring flawless execution across every project. A great Director of Production is both strategic and hands-on: you establish best practices, optimize workflows, build scalable processes, and have a pulse on individual project health. You are a strong leader who will mentor and empower producers at every level, foster cross-discipline collaboration and respect, and maintain strong relationships with clients, team members, and vendors. Ultimately, you balance strategic and creative ambition with fiscal responsibility, ensuring Code and Theory delivers innovative, high-quality work efficiently and profitably.

WHAT YOU’LL DO: 

  • Delivery: Oversee all production activities across a large client and/or several clients, building agility, rigor, and precision into execution. Delivery expertise across a variety of product focused engagements: website, native applications, PWAs, systems integration, etc.
  • Client Service: Establish and maintain executive-level client relationships, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and effectively navigate complex conversations related to scope, alignment, and team performance.
  • Project Management: Lead and own the outcomes of organized and managed projects and client work, ensure the team is on track throughout engagements.
  • Business Acumen: Own scoping, team oversight, financial performance, and business development efforts, ensuring alignment between client success and agency outcomes.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED: 

  • 10+ years of program management experience
  • Passion for empowering your team to deliver innovative solutions
  • Curiosity about how technology and creativity can drive business transformation
  • Ownership of production strategy and operational excellence
  • Humility in leadership and promoting a culture of continuous learning and accountability
  • An understanding of different project management methodologies with the ability to apply, or adapt, your approach to meet client needs and deliver successful outcomes
  • Demonstrate strong technical acumen to drive work forward in partnership with cross-discipline leads, and have the ability to translate technical complexity into a clear and actionable delivery plans
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including clear communication, emotional intelligence, and the ability to influence and align diverse stakeholders, both internal teams and clients

The target range of base compensation for this role is $160,000 - $185,000. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and location.
