Lead end-to-end payments strategy, focusing on platform integration, clearing, settlement, fraud compliance, and cost optimization to enhance transactional efficiency.
As a Director of Product, Payments, you will be responsible for leading our end-to-end payments strategy and execution across platform partnerships, clearing & settlement, reconciliation, risk & compliance, funds flow/ledger, and cost optimization. You’ll align payment platform capabilities with restaurant POS needs, drive reliable money movement, and deliver measurable improvements in authorization, transparency, and unit economics.
What You’ll Focus On
- Payment Platform Integrations: Payment platform collaboration and integrations to power reliable, scalable payment experience.
- Clearing & Settlement: Define payout and settlement standards and drive clear, merchant-facing transparency.
- Financial Reconciliation: empower reconciliation to support accurate closes and audits.
- Fraud & Compliance: Establish a risk and compliance framework (incl. PCI/EMV baselines) to reduce exposure while staying audit-ready.
- Funds Flow & Ledger Platform: Build a high-integrity funds and ledger foundation for splits, balances, fees, and reporting.
- Cost Optimization: Improve auth rates and lower blended costs via policy and routing strategies.
- 6 years in payments/fintech/retail product; 3 years leading PMs; restaurant/POS a plus.
- Solid knowledge of acquiring/gateway/clearing/settlement and card-scheme rules; familiar with PCI/EMV security baselines.
- Ability to define and execute product strategy and vision, align it to company goals, and drive market research, competitive analysis, and customer insights to identify opportunities and growth.
- Experience with integrating with payment platforms such as Stripe or Adyen, is a plus.
- Strong data-driven execution and cross-functional leadership.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills—able to convey complex concepts to both technical teams and executives.
- Fluent English; Mandarin is a plus.
- This position is primarily remote, requiring extended periods of computer work, analysis, and collaboration via virtual platforms.
- Flexibility to work beyond standard hours during critical budget, forecast, or Board deliverables cycles.
- Must be able to coordinate and communicate effectively with stakeholders across different time zones, adjusting work hours as needed to support business priorities.
