Element451 is seeking a Director of Product Marketing to lead product marketing strategy and execution as we scale a modern SaaS platform serving higher education. This role will build and operationalize product marketing that drives adoption, differentiation, and revenue - leveraging AI tools and optimized workflows to move faster, test more, and scale impact across go-to-market initiatives.

Working closely with Product, Revenue, Customer Success, and Marketing, you’ll translate complex platform capabilities into clear positioning, compelling messaging, and high-performing GTM materials. You’ll own the narrative, enable the field, and ensure launches land with clarity and consistency.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead product marketing at Element451, establishing a cohesive strategy and operating model that aligns Product, Marketing, Revenue, and Customer Success.

  • Own positioning & messaging across key products and capabilities - consistent, differentiated, and built for iteration and testing.

  • Design and implement AI-supported product marketing workflows to accelerate research, positioning development, messaging iteration, asset creation, and GTM execution.

  • Use AI tooling to synthesize customer insights, market research, competitive intelligence, and product usage data into actionable narratives, launch strategies, and enablement.

  • Drive product launches and feature releases—plan, execute, and optimize launches at scale with clear timelines, readiness checklists, and measurable outcomes.

  • Build scalable frameworks for producing product marketing assets, including web content, solution briefs, sales enablement, demo narratives, competitive battlecards, and training - without sacrificing quality or rigor.

  • Partner with Demand Gen to align messaging with campaigns, channels, and lifecycle stages - improving relevance and performance across the funnel.

  • Enable Sales and CS with clear value props, differentiation, competitive positioning, and talk tracks - supported by AI explainers, proof points, and adoption/usage insights.

  • Establish and track KPIs across launches and initiatives (adoption, pipeline influence, win-rate impact, competitive performance), using AI-assisted analysis to continuously improve GTM effectiveness.

What Success Looks Like (First 6–12 Months)

Positioning and messaging are clear, consistent, and adopted across Sales, CS, and Marketing.

  • Launches run on a predictable cadence with strong readiness and measurable outcomes.

  • Sales enablement is streamlined and high-trust - reps know what to say, when to say it, and why it wins.

  • Competitive stories are sharper; objection handling improves; win-loss insights get operationalized.

  • Product marketing becomes the connective tissue between Product and GTM - faster alignment, better execution, stronger outcomes.

Who You Are

  • 8+ years in product marketing (or product management with strong GTM ownership) in a B2B SaaS environment.

  • Proven experience building and executing product marketing strategy at scale across multiple products/capabilities.

  • Hands-on experience using AI tools to support research synthesis, messaging development, content creation, enablement, or performance analysis.

  • Exceptional writer and communicator - able to move from strategy to crisp execution quickly.

  • Strong cross-functional leader who can drive alignment across Product, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success.

  • Highly organized - comfortable running multiple launches and initiatives in parallel.

  • Data-oriented, with experience using insights and experimentation to refine messaging and GTM motions.

  • Comfortable as both a leader and an individual contributor in a fast-paced environment.

  • Curious, pragmatic, and focused on outcomes over activity.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
